Hello! I’m new to BB so if I’ve missed this thread somewhere else please just show me to there, but I’ve looked around and I haven’t been able to find answer my question!

I’m considering getting a Mini Rex but the little that I have found has two little girls for sale (they are absolutely gorgeous and I can’t wait to go up to meet them soon) but I was wondering would it be at all possible if they’re never separated during their lives to bond them? Or would I need to keep them separated until they were spayed?

I look forward to hearing from you guys!!

By little, do you mean babies/quite young?

There are two issues with leaving them together. One, sexing rabbits is not always straightforward, and if you’re starting with babies, it is totally possible that the sex of one or both is wrong. Brother and sister will breed, and it’s not super obvious when a female is mature.

Two, if they are preadolescent, they are pre territorial hormone. When they mature, they will fight. Definitely. No matter if it’s two males, two females, or even one of each.

If your heart is set on both, I’d take them, get them to a vet straight away to neuter them and be sure you’ve got what you thought you did. They can be neighbors while they heal, if they still get along. No guarantees of siblings loving each other when they mature, unfortunately, but if they do, it just means your bonding process will be super easy.
