My sister was the previous owner of my rabbit, and she adopted him from like a home hardware or home Depot or something and they told her he was Dwarf something but she can’t remember what Winston supposedly was, and I’d like to know. I adopt a lot of rescues and it bugs me everyday not knowing at least what he might be crossed with.

Winston is no way a dwarf anyways, he’s like 2-3 lbs I’d guess, and I’m not sure when they stop growing but he is 1 year and a half now. Here are some pics! Sorry about the qaulity.

Does his fur feel like velvet? He looks like a mini rex or a mini rex mix to me

No, not like velvet. More like just a cat. But to be fair I’ve only ever pet like three cats my whole life so maybe most cats feel different? lol would a mini rex be where he got his colors?

              https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mini_Rex
Ill leave that there so you can read through the characteristics and see if they match your bun at all

It could be where he got his colors, but its hard to tell in the photos. Is he all tan with gray legs and white tummy? Or was that lighting?
Does his fur kind of ‘stick out’ rather than lay flat? Mini rex’s fur is super soft and doesnt lay flat compared to other bunnies

he is all tan, with splotches of grayish black on his bottom and legs, and he has one super white arm and super white tummy! The quality of his pictures are terrible and it’s night time, but the colors are pretty on point.

Winstons hair doesn’t grow straight out, it grows out and down, and fluffy, like a dog, although he’s been in pain for a while so maybe he’s just extra fluffy because he is shedding.

Ah ok! Shedding would make sense to why his hair looks like its a bit stuck out. Im not sure what breed or breeds he would be, but hes a super cutie!

It’s hard to tell from the pictures but he could be a nethie or nethie mix. It’s possible that is what he is, even though he isn’t a true dwarf. There are lots of false dwarves that are sold as pets. It simply means they did not inherit a copy of the dwarfism gene from their parents. This happens in 25% of the babies, but depends on the genotype of the parents (one copy vs two copies).

I actually see  a lot of my rabbits structure in some of the Nethies. Except his feet. Winstons feet are very dainty. His front legs are very smoothly haired, and caper off to tips. So a type of Agouti Nethie mix? Whate very he is crossed with would have very long ears lol

Polish rabbits and netherland dwarfs are confused all the time. The difference is that Polish rabbit’s faces are narrower and their ears are longer. He does look like he has Red Agouti fur!

I was going off of face shape when I said nethie. He has similar features, he just isn’t a dwarf.

He looks just like my bunny, except mine is gray! From hours of Googling I figured she was a Polish mix of some kind. She’s also about 3 pounds, but she’s 8 months old.
