        Hi everyone,

I currently have a new rabbit that is with a family member until I can drive down to meet her in about 10 days. I have scheduled her spay for when I will be there, so I will only have 2 days with her before the surgery. Do you think that this will make her associate me to her pain and make her scared of me? I wasn’t worried before, but my mother (who doesn’t think spaying is necessary) jokes around saying that as soon as she meets me, I will be causing her pain with the surgery.

Also, she lets my family member hold and cuddle with her, and I will be bonding her to my boy who HATES being held. Will he teach her to run away as well?

I dont think so. Youll be the main one helping her feel better so i would assume, if anything, she would see you more as a caregiver. Dont listen to the rude jokes your mom says; youre bunny will love you just fine

            I think she’ll be fine.

How your boy’s and her relationship will turn out is of course not really possible to say, but many rabbits feel more secure when they have a rabbit friend and can become a lot less skittish.

Don’t worry about your bunny being scared of you.

I doubt your boy’s personality will rub off on her but a lot of bonded bunnies prefer cuddling with each other after being bonded as opposed to their human.

I hope not, because I got her specifically because she can be held and has been used for zootherapy. I wanted a pet that could be petted on my lap as an emotional support pet, ideally a rabbit to bond to my boy. Hopefully she keeps her current personality.
