Hiya, so I’m probably being paranoid but I’m really scared. i don’t know what’s wrong but I’m scared its a Gi stasis, my rabbit has been acting normal but he hasn’t pooped in 14 hours, I’ve been watching him all day and he’s eatwn normally, but a bit more hay than usual. I felt his stomach and it felt kind of hard and round. I’m really scared, I feed him 1/4 cup pellets, water, Timothy hay (unlimited) and 1-2 cups of green (parsley, lettuce, small carrot) every day. Is he ok? Should I take him to the vet?

        Thanks!

If he’s been eating, he’ll be okay. He might just be holding off for whatever reason and do a big lot all at once.

Have you made any changes to his litter box? New type of litter? Or put it in a different spot to the usual?

How long until it’s dangerous? I have something tonight and all day tomorrow (obviously I can cancel if he’s no alright)

                  Has he been drinking water?

If he’s been eating more hay, he might know he’s needing the fibre to help move things through his gut. Is he shedding at the moment? Have you noticed more fur in the poop lately?

I don’t typically notice him drinking, but I don’t htink I saw him doing it today… He’s not shedding, and no fur in his poop

Well GI stasis is when they stop eating and pooping. Since he has been eating, i personally am not convinced it is bad yet. He wouldn’t be eating if things weren’t moving. Could he have toileted somewhere you haven’t discovered yet?

Does he use a water bottle or bowl?

I’ve checked his whole cage twice, nothing anywhere.

If he is currently in his cage, can you let him out for a short run around? Getting him moving will help.

This happened to another member the other day. Then just as they were about to leave, their bunny did a mountain of poo. I hope you’ll be seeing the same thing. C’mon Larry!
He might be tricking you into staying home…

Well I had gotten home last night, still nothing so I was getting worried. Thankfully though, this morning I woke up to a flopping bunny who left some tiny little present in his box

                                        Glad something finally appeared!

If poop is undersized, do keep a close eye. If he stops eating, time to see the vet. I hope things will be looking completely normal soon.
