We’ve noticed Jack’s brother Finn has been grooming Jacks ear very very throughly and sticking his whole face in Jacks ear. We noticed this aggressive grooming for a few days but Jack doesn’t seem to mind and they are a very tightly lifelong bonded pair. Today I saw a scab or cut in jacks ear while Finn was grooming it. I’m not sure if Finn is trying to help the wound or making it worse or maybe he accidentally made it. Both ears are clean and Finns are fine. Jack has been cleaning his ear often but not excessively so he might have scratched it bloody. They have been pooping, eating, peeing but not drinking much water. We put neosporin on it and he is hopping around. I just want to make sure it doesn’t get infected, what we can put on it and what the cause might be. If it worsens we will take him to the vet this week thanks. I will post photos very soon

Ended up changing the name of the thread and making a “the story of” thread instead.

My girl is an aggressive groomer too and has given her bonded partners scabby ears. Currently Red doesn’t have any scabs ive just been keeping an eye on it but when I took Gareth to the vets for the final time they were a bit of a mess to be honest .
