My bunny is 2 months old, and I’ve only had him for 4 days. He ate a lot of treats yesterday, and today he has been eating a lot of hay. He hasn’t pooped in about 12 hours, and I’m starting to worry. I can’t get him to drink out of his water bottle or bowl, so I fed him some very small apple pieces to supply him with a little bit of water. He’s been sitting in his litter box all day eating hay, but he hasn’t pooped. I know about GI stasis, but he’s eating plenty and peeing, just not pooping. What should I do?

With GI stasis, they won’t want to eat. I think your rabbit will be okay. He might just do a load of poo all at once.

If you still haven’t seen them but he continues to eat, I’d wonder if he’s been eating them.

Be careful with the amount of treats he gets.
          Does he eat pellets?

He has pellets in his food bowl, but doesn’t like them. He’s been eating timothy hay all morning (he won’t eat alfalfa ), but he still hasn’t pooped. Thank you for your response!

He doesn’t like pellets. He’s been eating timothy hay all morning, and still hasn’t pooped. It’ll be 24 hours since he’s pooped in a few hours, I’m getting really worried. He is acting normal, although a little more lethargic but not by much.

Well he is eating the best thing at the moment. I would definitely try encourage water. Maybe a little bit of juice in it will get him drinking. Do you have a syringe or dropper?

Right as I was about to head out the door to go to the pet store, I noticed he pooped EVERYWHERE! A whole days worth. I never thought I would be this happy about poop . Thanks for your help.
