So I have noticed some mice in the house, and I have read online that peppermint oil is a deterrent for mice as they hate the smell. I therefore want to put the oil around the house. Howeverm my bun lives inside, and I’m wondering if he will hate/be affected by the smell also. Any thoughts?

Essential oils (of any type) can be highly irritating to skin and mucosa, but I’m guessing you won’t be putting it very near your rabbit? The smell of peppermint is not obnoxious to bunnies. Bunnies like to eat peppermint, fresh or dried.

Actually, Rabbits do not like the smell of peppermint. To help keep rabbits out of garden areas, put 2-3 drops of Young Living Peppermint Oil on a cotton ball or piece of fabric. Then, put them around your garden to keep them away from the area. If you can find a place to put them where they will stay dry, this will keep the rain out so you won’t need to replace them as often. It’s as easy as that!
