I have a neutered Flemish Giant who is entirely insistent on jumping onto my kitchen countertops to get into whatever is up there or the cabinets. He knows he’s not supposed to because if I hear him and yell from my bedroom he’ll go ahead and jump down sometimes. I’ve tried crating him for punishment, I’ve tried gently tapping on the nose, I’ve tried a firm “No” and putting him down, I’ve tried it all!!! Unfortunately, with the layout of my apartment I don’t have any doors at all except to my bathroom, so I don’t have the option of just keeping him out of the kitchen. I DON’T KNOW WHAT TO DO!!!! Sadly, I have a mini lop who seems like she’s scared I’m going to pick her up and yell at her too  she’s starting running from me! HELP!!!

Lol i totally understand, because my rabbit does the same except she does to do it on the dinning table and take a bite of all the fruits..

Unfortunately I don’t think there is any way to stop them.. once they learn they can do it and they will just keep doing it..
You can try and give a firm push to the edge so that the rabbit have no choice but to jump down.

You can try and get baby gates. They are like kids aren’t they huh lol, can never keep your eyes off them

I wonder if there is something you could put out on the counter that your bunny wouldn’t like having his paws on. When my kitties insisted on getting up on top of the aquarium, we made “tape traps.” We put little loops of scotch tape so there was a sticky part on top, and if the kitties jumped up there they got tape on their paws, which didn’t hurt them at all, but freaked them out. They stopped jumping up there almost instantly, and eventually we took the tape off, and they have never tried it again. I know some cats also hate the feeling of aluminum foil under their paws, and some people lay sheets of it out on the counter so their kitties won’t get up there. I’m not sure what a bunny would dislike the feel of, but maybe you could figure it out. Hopefully your bunny, like my kitties, will eventually stop trying once he knows there will be something icky up there his paws would touch. I don’t know if this helps, but it was just a thought. Good luck.

Is there any way to put any food on the counter somewhere your bunny can’t get to it? I know some people don’t like to keep fruit, for example, in the refrigerator but you might have to in this case.

You could try putting something up there, but nothing that would scare him. My husband would put these snap things on the counter to scare the cat (when we had our kitty), but cats have good reflexes and can recover midair after being startled. You wouldn’t want to do that to a bunny because they could seriously hurt themselves if they went flying off a counter.

One thing we did try was the plastic floor runners with the nubs on the bottom. We would put them “pokey” side up. It didn’t hurt our cat, but he didn’t like walking on it.
