        Hello,

My rabbit has been using her litter box for a while now and has been doing fine but recently she has been pooping elsewhere but keeps the pee in the litter box. How do I break her of this habit? Thanks!

Most bunnies will have the occasional poop outside of the litter. However, pooping can be a way of marking territory. Is it just a few or is she not pooping in the litter box at all? Is your bunny spayed? Have there been any changes in your home or your bunny’s living space recently?

When I started bonding my bunnies and had the two of them in a neutral area one of them pooped everywhere. I think the combination of another bunny and a new space sent him into overdrive.

umm she is not spayed, actually she is pregnant [accidental ] , and she is pooping in her litter box and piles outside of it so it’s almost half and half.

Well, I think you should just allow her to continue with her routine since she is pregnant – now is not the time to try anything new since she is stressed, hormonal and pregnant – now is the time to show some patience and compassion and think about the well being of your rabbit.

Thank you so much sarita! That is exactly what I thought but wanted to confirm that I wasn’t the only one thinking this
