My oldest bun, Hershey, passed away yesterday afternoon.  Since he’s gone, Toby is an only bunny-child now, so I’ve completely rearranged the bunny corner.  Hershey was nosy and loved to chew, so the corner had to be barricaded off when we weren’t home.  Toby is much more low-key and he is distrustful of the slick floors, so he doesn’t venture off the rug, unless it’s to jump on the sofa.  I moved all the cords down to the other outlet that’s hidden behind the couch, and put up a cardboard/grid barrier all around his “den” to keep him from munching on my books or getting behind the couch.  He can get under the couch if he wants (though he never has), but the outlet is up high, so he can’t get to the cords even if he’s under there.  He’s done SO well as a free bunny since yesterday.  Apparently, Hershey was the messy bunny. There’s been no stray poops to sweep up, no paper or hay strewn all over the place….he’s a tidy bunny for right now.  He keeps his digging and chewing contained within the dig box and only chews on his toys.

He stayed out by himself all night while we were asleep, and I checked on him and lunch time and he was still just hanging out in his space.  When we are home, I put a blanket down on the floor so he has more room to romp around in.

Aww, I’m sorry for the loss of your Hershey bun

Sounds like you have yourself a semi-free range bun. They are super fun.

Thanks so much…it’s kinda sad around our house right now, but it’ll get better. It helps that Toby seems to be enjoying himself so much now!
