So back at school Kraken would drink a rediculous amount of water, like a few 9oz bowls a day/night. A week ago I took him on an 8 hour journey to my home and he didn’t really drink in the car well but seemed to recover and ate wet greens when we got him settled. Ever since he has been doing well and is active and eating nicely but his water consumption isn’t nearly what it used to be. He is in a much cooler environment as he is in our basement and he is eating his wet greens every night. But never finishing a bowl of water. His urine has been a little darker in color as well. Could it be that our water tastes different? Could he be having medical problems? Anyone have any advice? Thanks!

Depending on how many greens he’s getting he may be getting enough water that way. If you think he’s not drinking at all, you could try adding some apple juice to entice him (the water may very well taste different!) or you can syringe feed him some water-or add loads of water to his veggies. If none of that works maybe something is up and he may need to see the vet.

He didn’t drink anything last night even though I put juice in one of his bowls. He drank about a tablespoon of mostly juice and a little water. His urine is quite dark. I will probably take him into the vet on Monday.
