I’m looking for a cage where I don’t have to take out my bunny to clean the cage. I just want the bottom to come out without taking out my bunny.cdoes anyone know where I can find one? Not too expensive.

        Thanks

I would get an x pen. You can get inside of it and clean while your bun is still inside. They don’t have a bottom like you said but theyre spacious enough for a big litter box.

dog crates have a slide out pan but I would recommend trying to litter train. Dog crates alone are not big enough though.

I am curious as to why you do not want to remove your rabbit from his/her cage

She runs away from me when I try to take her out, I think it all started when I took her to the vet. Where do I get an X Pen?

ebay, amazon … you can get one at anywhere that sells pet supplies really.

My worry though is that keeping her in her cage is not helping her come back around. She needs to trust you.

                  How big is your cage?
I use a large dog crate. I lined the bottom pan with pee pads so I would have to reach in the cage to change the pee pad but I never had to forcefully take my rabbit out. So I would just change the pads while she was in there. I think it also helped her get used to me being nearby/around her/in her space.
Rabbits don’t like being picked up so I can see why she would run after being taken out of her cage.
But definitely try to litter train your rabbit, it makes cleaning easier, and you don’t have to disturb your rabbit when you change the litter.

CrazyGemini–do you let your bunny out for exercise? Could you clean the cage then?

I don’t take her out because the rooms in the house aren’t bunny proof. I’m afraid she may eat the rug in the other room.  The cage is 40 inches in length. I’m trying to find a pen for her so she can run around.

Thanks for the link. That cage is nice. Exactly what I’m looking for. Just have to find a mat to put down so she doesn’t go to the bathroom on my hard wood floor.

Just to let you know, we also bought a seperate ex pen that we attached into the pen that comes with the cage, allows Nugget to really have some room to zoom, without being loose in the house. Just bend out the loops a bit, slip them on and pinch them shut again. Works great And congrats on him.
