So a few people have suggested me mixing Moxie’s medicine with baby food, to try and tempt her to eat it. So my question is: What baby foods are safe/okay for rabbits to eat, and which should I stay away from?

        Thank you all in advance!

I’ve used carrot baby food for that purpose. I’m sure banana or pear would work as well. Just keep in mind the very high sugar content. Just use a very small amount.

I haven’t used it yet but got some of the 2nd or 3rd “stages” (thicker) in banana and banana/strawberry for my emergency kit. I got a couple of the 1st stage banana too. The 1st stages ones are so runny and I was afraid mixing them with liquid meds would be so liquidity.

I was offered some sweet potato baby food by a relative, but I don’t think sweet potatos are okay for them. Is it?

Sweet Potatoes are on the “To Avoid” list.

Okay Thanks LPT, that’s what I thought.

You can also try mashing up an actual banana and putting the medicine in that, that’s what we do now with Bramble since he learned how to avoid swallowing his medicine when we were syringing it.

There is an apple and banana one I buy. It’s 100% organic, no additives. Comes in a little pouch in the yoghurt section and has a screw cap.

I have used carrot or apple (organic) baby food in the past to mix with Critical Care. It’s simply fruit and water, no sugar or other additives. Fruit of course has natural sugars, so you wouldn’t want to use a lot. I would think that most fruit baby foods would be okay to use, as long as they don’t have anything added to them.
