Hey everyone! So I’m wondering if any of you have any ideas on some good cleaning supplies that are great for sanitation. My bun is recovering from being sick and I don’t want her to get sick again so I want to sanitized all of her stuff, and my carpet as well just to be safe. I’m just not sure what to use. Usually I use soap and hot water and sometimes a little bleach when I wash her litter box and cage, but I’m not sure how well that works.

          What was she sick from?
Usually the safest thing to use is a 50/50 vinegar and water solution. It disinfects pretty well. If you do use bleach, make sure to rinse everything very, very well.

There is a disinfectant used in horse-stables that is popular with bunny-owners here. It kills virtually any pathogen etc. http://www.horsehealthusa.com/details/Virkon-S-Disinfectant/219-2.html

It’s not toxic to bunnies and easy to use and at least here you can buy it in small sachets – which is good if you’re not cleaning a whole stable. I use it for my outdoors hutch-run (that’s only used recreationally in the summer, my buns are indoors buns).

But 50/50 vinegar and water will probably work just as fine for your purposes.
