‘gulping’ down water??? normal or not?

hey everybody

I’ve been wondering if anyone else has had this experience??

I’ve noticed that Nigel has been making gulping sounds while he drinks from his bottle. there isn’t anything clogging it, and he is acting perfectly normal/happy/healthy. but i was wondering…is it normal for him to make this gulping noise sometimes while drinking? 

he has to bend down a tiny bit to drink from the bottle, but i move it around and it doesn’t really make a difference i don’t think.

is this normal? or should i be keeping close watch on it?

why do you think this happens?

I don’t know if she was drinking or not, but I heard my bun make a noise like that last night after we all went to bed. I sat up and turned on the light and she seemed ok, but it was really odd. Maybe it’s common.

Both of my rabbits drink from a bowl, not a bottle, but one definitely makes more noise than the other when getting a drink. Just keep an eye on your bun and I would say as long as their drinking and acting healthy, they should be okay.

Haven’t heard mine make gulping noises, but we did use a metal clamp-like thing with wing nuts to raise out water bottles (used the clamp thing to rest the spout on). Moshi likes to drink with his mouth level with the end of the spout, but Marlee thinks she needs to have her mouth under the spout. Both were leaning down to drink so we rigged a way to raise the bottles.
