Has anybody had their rabbit spayed at SOS of Ohio?  I had planned on spaying my rabbit earlier this year and was on a waiting list for a low-cost voucher, but the funding fell through.  I just came across some info on SOS of Ohio and was wondering about their service.

I am in Ohio (Cleveland area), but I’ve never heard of this program. My rabbit was spayed years ago, so maybe it wasn’t something available then?

I looked it up and it seems legitimate and they make a point of specifying rabbits. The rate they charge is similar to what I pay as a rescue for spay and neuter.

It sounds good on laper, but I’m wondering about their experience with rabbit anesthesia. I’d be interested in knowing how many bunny spays they actually do.

That’s a great question, and definitely something to ask! If they specify rabbits, they probably do quite a few procedures. Low cost clinics sometimes get a bad rap, but they generally have a ton of experience, even more than a private (more expensive) vet practice.
