There is this rabbit that keeps going into the field behind our house for about a month. Last night me and my brother found bones and fur. We think it’s a rabbit. I think there might be baby rabbits in the field. Whatever killed the one rabbit (I think) I don’t want it to kill the babies if there is some. So, if there are babies….

-could I keep them and if they live let them go?
-what do I feed them? (It would have to be made with homemade items)
        -how do I feed them?
        -when do I feed them?
-how can I tell if the mom is coming back for them or not?
-if I touch them, but keep them outside, will the mom come back?
-what can I keep them in?
-best way to keep them alive (If I take care of them, and take them out of the nest)

        Thanks!!

The best thing to do is find a wild life rehabber to care for the babies if you find them and you are 100% sure they are orphaned. They require a very special diet. If the babies have their eyes open and are eating on their own though they should be left alone.

Realize that a momma bunny does not hang around in the nest/warren with the babies.  She stays away from it most of the time – returning only to sleep and to feed the babies.

The way to check to see if momma is coming back is to lay a couple of small twigs across the entrance to the nest/warren and come back in the morning.  If the sticks have been moved out of the way, the momma is about.

About 10% of the abandoned wild baby rabbits that are rescued were actually abandoned.

Any update? Did you find the momma or a rehabber?
