Fair warning, this may be a lengthy post! =)

Ever since I decided to get a bunny I have been 100% obsessed with buying him stuff, getting new ideas for things for him, etc. I walk into a store and shop for my bunny instead of myself, and I spend my computer time on binkybunny or youtube.

So far my obsession is cage tours, organization, and new ideas/products, so I figured I’d start by sharing my buns stuff, and see if anyone else had interesting or exciting things they wanted to share (simple as a new food bowl (which is one of mine HAHA) or a new cage, etc).

        Lets get started!

at this point, some of you are thinking “is this girl for real”, yes I honestly have youtubed ways to stay rabbit organized. This is my rabbits stuff. The container on top holds his pellets, a food dish, and a tablespoon (which are washed every few days).

The top drawer has his “bunny binder”, which has a list of veggies he can eat, his vets number and address, and the emergency vets number and address. It also has timothy twists, a bag of Oxbow freeze dried strawberries, a harness and leash (which have never been used, but I do have it), a syringe, and critical care.   The middle drawer houses his grooming stuff: 3 brushes (a deshedder, a 2 sided cat brush (one side is similar to a human brush with plastic ends, and the other side is soft while bristles), and a grooming mitt, also q-tips, his nail clippers, and styptic powder.   The bottom drawer has his towels, pillow cases, fleece blankets, etc.

Feel free to stop reading at anytime, I’ll tell you though, shopping for and showing my bunny stuff is my new hobby (the boyfriend is ready to kill me)

These are storage buckets for my bunny, short and simple, the one on the left is litter & a scoop (I am officially in love with softwood pellets now, way better and WAY cheaper than carefresh), and the right side is hay (half of it is timothy hay, then it is a quarter oat hay, and another quarter botanical hay)

That being said, here is my latest buy! My bunny Cosmo used to have a typical wire, petstore hayrack, which worked, but had to be refilled at least daily, sometimes more, I was paranoid about him running out of hay, and it always fell out the back of the hay rack and behind his cage. New solution, a stainless steel fruit basket, hung with metal S hooks. It holds WAY more hay, the hay only falls into his litter box, and I can mix all the different kinds of hay in it to make a “bunny salad”.  Needless to say, this hayrack excites me.

Next is my little man’s cage. He used to be housed in a dog kennel, but it was too small, so here is the xpen!! (you can see his old hay rack)

He has fleece on the top and bottom (he never tries to jump out, its more so his bed and hidey house seem more comfy, but also better safe than sorry), he has a LARGE cat box (he refused to use his smaller one, he apparently thinks he’s 10 pounds, not 2.7). Beside it is a cat scratcher wave, he sits on it and can hide under it. Then his hidey box, then his bed (which is a flat, dollarstore cat bed, with a pillowcase on top), and finally his water bowl (I WISH I had a better picture because I was so excited when I found this), it is long an low, completely recycled, and holds 3 cups of water! As my bun is a dwarf he is pretty tiny and unable to reach down into a bowl as it empties, but I also want to make sure he always has lots of water, PERFECT solution! He also has a grass mat, a toilet paper roll, a piece of cardboard, willow sticks, a timothy carrot, and a stuffed animal in there. =)

Here is a very small portion of my buns free roam area (His ‘outside’ litterbox, his bed on the coffee table (with him in it! I think he likes it there because its similar to a hidey house) and his cat tent on the far right side (the blue thing)

I guess LAST is my home project, its just a bunch of boxes with holes cut out to make a bunny mansion =)

Anyways, if you managed to get through my WHOLE post I hope you have some interesting things for your bun you’d like to share, I love getting new ideas and hopefully you got some too!!!! =)

Ooh, spoiled bunny! I love his setup! Where did you get that cat scratcher wave thing, I want it for my bunnies! I will take some pics of some of my homemade houses and playgrounds tomorrow when there is better lighting.

I’m so jealous. How much did all of this cost you?

His storage containers were cheap, the tall one was $5 and the flat ones were $7. His pellet container was $2.
The xpen I got off kijiji for $40. Most of his stuff, blankets, litter box, beds, pillow cases, etc. We’re from the dollar store too.
I had the cardboard box lying around, and I bought a pack of 8 from staples for $5 to stack for his bunny house thing.

So not a ton, but I’ve spent a lot more than I should! I have way more stuff I bought that either wasn’t posted, or isn’t being uses anymore. Oops lol.

You know… I’m glad you mentioned that “bunny binder”.

I feel so many people don’t realize how necessary it is to have essential information about their buns on hand. Ours also contains a list of different emergency situations and how to handle each one – GI stasis, scratches, stab wounds, ect. I’ll have to relook inside mine and figure out where I got that list – I thought it looked mighty handy in an emergency though!

                    Oh that’s a smart idea tanlover14
I’ve only had my bun for a month, so my bunny binder is slowly growing,
but yes, I feel it is important to have such information in a specific spot so it is always available in emergency, and it also comes in handy if I ever go away, the bunsitter knows exactly where all information is. =)

I’m glad you mentioned the bunny binder. I like having paperwork in its proper place and have printed out some info, but never really put it all together. Its a great idea to have everything in one spot. Time to work on a binder!

I’m glad you found it helpful!
Yes I like having a bunny binder just to stay organized.

I can totally relate when you say… obsessed! I am constantly trying to figure new things to keep them busy, or new things to have my hubby make for them. You have some wonderful idea’s. Thanks for sharing. We are currently in the bonding process with my two males, and making great progress. Thank goodness But this is our bunny area when not out roaming.
