I had seven baby bunnies last night and they all looked perfectly healthy. This morning I wake up and two bunnies are on their side, opening and closing their mouths. They both died. Tonight, the other five were snuggling in their cage when I left them but when I came back the same thing happened to another bunny, and it also died. Can I fix this problem or do I need to go to a vet? Is is a contagious disease? These babies are wild, I took them in when their nest got caught in my dad’s tractor when he was mowing and then got attacked by my dog. They are just over two weeks now and their eyes are open, their ears are up, and they are all reasonably active. What’s wrong?

A domestic vet may or may not be able to offer any insight. Have you searched your area for wildlife rehab groups? What have you been giving them for nourishment?

Hi Emily, are these wild baby bunnies? Where is the MOM?

Obviously in any event, we just are not able to give you an answer so a trip to the vet, well, this is a must.

I don’t think anyone here will be able to give you advice about wild baby bunnies. No one has any experience that I am aware of. I would try contacting a wildlife rehab organization. They will take the babies and care for them. They have experience and training working with wild animals.
