Well tomorrow morning (at 7 AM…guh!) I have to take Jenna, my Yorkie, in for her dental. She had terrible vasculitis all through March and April this year and I am concerned how she will handle the GA and surgery. She is sensitive to many medications now and I am hoping all will go well, including that she doesn’t wind up losing more teeth.

Could everyone keep a good thought, pray or send vibes for my wee pup? She is the center of my world along with the bunnies and cats and I always worry when she goes in for any procedure. She hates being at the vet without me (heck she hates being there WITH me) after having to be there for four days and nights a few months ago. I’m certain she will be thinking I’ve left her again and it breaks my heart.

Many thankies in advance. Hope everyone is having a good day/evening, wherever you are!

Sorry, I didn’t see this thread. Hope my ((((((Jenna Vibes)))))) are not coming too late.

How did she make out? She seems like a real little trooper, just like my Bindi.

                Hope all is well.

Hi everyone! Sorry for not updating yesterday but my day was so full I was a limp rag by the end, so…
Yes she came through it okay. No teeth lost but some pockets they want to watch and they used a medicine called clindoral to help keep the teeth and the bone from wasting away any further. Yorkies are notorious for crummy teeth, so there may come a day eventually that we’ll be calling her “Gumby” but it’s not today.
Residual effects are that she has a pretty sore throat from the intubation and her voice is not working right, so I’m a bit concerned. Also I had them do a sani-shave and trim her nails and toe fluffies and they scalped her! 0_0 Good thing I didn’t get the all body shave, she’d look like a naked mole rat!
Many thankies for all the vibes and if someone can tell me a good way to help her throat get better quicker, please let me know. She is on a limited diet so it can’t be food related and some medicines she is allergic to.

Clindoral=clindamycin? So they use this direct on these pockets like a gel or something?

Such a shame about her throat! I really don’t know what you can do MM. It’s probably just matter of letting time heal.
Is she having any trouble swallowing?

Sorry I’m late-I noticed that too but wasn’t sure why-Mikey had a different voice for a few days after the dental. Intubation makes sense! He’s all back to normal now, how is Jenna’s throat?

Hi guys! Since there’s been posting to this thread I figure I should let you all know that Jenna’s voice recovered and she is doing well.
Sadly, the company that makes her kibble (the only thing she can eat) is being bought out by the company that makes the treats that she ate right before her vasculitis episode, which may have triggered the illness in the first place. This is a major worry as I am certain they will change the formula and she won’t be able to eat it anymore.
Sooo, her vet is looking into a home made diet for her, but we won’t try to change it until we’re certain the kibble has been changed.
It really sucks, I have no idea why this company sold out, they were the best on the market.

Jerz, yeah I guess clindoral is clindamycin. Luckily I didn’t have to give her weeks of that orally, it is nasty!

Thanks everyone for sending vibes for Jenna.
