        Hi Everyone

Chacha saw her regular vet this morning. The vet said that her right ear is a little warm and there is a little inflammation still. The vet said that Chacha is 50% better, and advised me to keep giving her the animax ear ointment, and she gave me a week’s worth of supply of metacam for the inflammation and any pain that Chacha may be in.

We discussed the different types of medications for rabbits. She said that the animax – which is a corticosteroid is safe on rabbits as long it as it isn’t on the skin or in the mouth. The animax is going into the ear, which is fine she said.

So, Chacha is on medication again for the week and if the head shaking and irritating ear scratching keeps happening to make another appointment.

That’s good to know about the Animax – thank you for sharing that.

More vibes to Ms. Chacha, I hope her ears heal quickly. I know Chacha has continuous ear problems – does the vet know why or is it just one of those things? I guess sometimes even if we know why, it’s not always preventable anyway.

I almost forgot to mention — She tried to box the vet.

She does not know why . When I took Chacha in for her yearly exam, her ears were fine. It almost feels like Chacha is a forever child and may not grow out of the ear problems. I hope that she does though *fingers crossed*

This made me laugh picturing it!!!

I’m sorry to hear her ear is not better. It must be something different from what Bindi gets because his ears don’t get inflammed. His ear infections usually require several vet visits before they are cleared up. He also doesn’t seem to get pain from them.

Are you bringing her back in a week to make sure they are cleared up? I would probably get a culture done if they are not cleared up within a week.

She says if it clears up, to not worry about it. She is pretty confident that the infection will clear up. She also said if she is still doing the head shaking and ear itching after the week of 2 meds to bring her back in. I will definitely do an ear culture.

Aww, poor thing! Sounds like she’s in good hands though – both her mommy and her vet – vibes!
