Lola bun is under the weather.  She’s been acting funny all weekend and won’t leave her condo and today she wouldn’t finish her greens or even come out of her cage for treats. You all saw how much she loves her treats in that video I posted so you know something is up… My boyfriend was trying to hand feed her carrot tops and she took a few nibbles and then just flopped and acted uninterested and “sad”.

She also hasn’t pooped in a few hours (4 hours – at least) – I cleaned out her litter box because it didn’t seem like she was going as much as usual and there hasn’t been a poo in there since I did it.

I just mixed some of her Oxbow pellets with water and canned pumpkin to make a mush and she ate it so I’m hoping (*fingers crossed*) she starts pooping soon.

Need some good vibes!  I’m trying to keep an eye on her since I want to take her to the vet if she doesn’t improve.

I would take her in if you have the time/money. Just to be safe. I’ve heard too many stories about losing a bun within an hours time.

I don’t want to sound negative or anything, I just think you should because they’re so fragile.

Good thoughts going your way, though! I hope she’s going to be okay. Keep updating.

We are trying to find a vet that is open. She still hasn’t pooped. She’s peed….but that just makes me worry that it’s going to dehydrate her. She’s actually munching on hay now which is the first time all day – but it just makes me concerned that she is going to “back herself up”. I just don’t want to take it away from her if it’s going to help get everything going.

I’ll let you all know what happens.

I hope you were able to find a vet to see today. I think it’s important if she’s still not well by now.

Lola is feeling much better today. It was definitely a little worrisome – enough so that even my boyfriend was worried that she wasn’t eating or pooping and not just telling me I was overreacting. I think the mushy pellets and pumpkins really helped her. I called the vet today and explained the situation and she said sometimes bunnies just get gas and it takes a a little while for them to get over it, which I know….it was just really scary to experience.

I scheduled Lola a well-bunny check-up just to make sure everything else is okay. Thanks for your support guys! I don’t know what I would do if something happened to her.

I’m glad Lola is feeling better. Bunnies do sometimes get gas buy if it happens frequently, it’s best to get the vet to try determine the cause.

I always suggest bunny owners keep Simethicone in their Bunny First Aid kit. I’ve had gassy bunnies perk back up just minutes after giving that stuff. It can’t hurt to give a dose if you think your bun is gassy.

Glad she’s better. I’m also glad you are taking her in for a wellness exam. That should rule out (or find) anything that may have caused this incident.
