I am starting to think about what I want in my bunny room/What I want done with it. So here is where I need your ideas! I am going to tell you about what I am kind of thinking of doing but please PLEASE make suggestions as these are only ideas and I want to get more! Before I tell you my ideas I will show you the pictures of my room.

We are just about to paint (this weekend! Woot)

What I really want is some sort of sky walk for the rabbits to walk on. I am thinking that a ramp would go from the floor up to the height of the bottom of the window on the left because my bunnies LOVE widow seats and sky walk type things. I am also thinking of some how having either a tube for a ramp or for part of the sky walk for them to run through. I would then like it to go higher so the can have a good look out but I want to be able to reach it when I am standing in case I have to catch them when they are sick and for cleaning. I wanted it to g o to the ceiling but that is just not be convenient. Maybe I could have a ramp that goes up and goes right on top of the other sky walk in one part. I don’t want it to jut out of the wall a lot because that would just not look good but there is a chance I would have to lock one/both of them in their if they get sick or something. So if they would HAVE to be shut in at some point would it have to be a 2 foot wide sky walk? Even if all of the other days of their life they never will be shut in? I would rather it be a 1 foot or at the max a 1 1/2 foot wide sky walk but would go 2 feet if you guys think its necessary. They will have free range of the whole room 24/7.

I will be adding more questions later when they come up. Probably wont be building anything until late Nov. or after, depending on how important my parents think it is to get done.

Please suggest any other cool ideas I could do!

with those beautiful windows, you should build a window seat so your bun can enjoy the sun!! I wish I had a room to make a bunny room. but where we moved we dont for a little while until we buy a home.

A ledge would be a neat idea! I’m confused by what you said about closing them in there tho? Would the ledge also be a cage? You wouldn’t want a cage to be up against the window because they wouldn’t be able to escape the direct sunlight or any drafts.

Ok so i drew this to try and help your guys figure out what I mean. Its not very well done though.

The brown is wood. There will be wood on the floor of the skywalk covered with linoleum. Somewhere there will be a ramp (shown in left corner.) to get into the skywalk. The white is what the wall will be. It will all be able to fold down for easy cleaning. This is what I am using for the wire.

It is supposed to be for closet shelving.

Ok now for questions. I just need you to use common sense on what you think would be convenient and look nice. I want it to be easy to clean.

                    1. How high should the sky walk be? Where I have it in the picture or higher?
                    2. Should it go around to whole room?
                    3. How wide should it be?
Just wanted to say this is NOT a cage. They will NEVER be shut in there it is just a playground for them to play on. I will add some other shelves and stuff but not sure where yet. BUT it will be able to be shut IF one of my bunnies gets sick and needs to be separated from the other bunny which I am hoping will never happen again.

Please let me know if this made more sense. I want to make some sort of shelf by the window too.

Ok. I may not make it closed in any more. I think I might just put a wooden edge around it like BB’s window seat has. Seems easier and would look nicer.

                              1. Put it up to the window so they can see out the window
                              2. I think you sould only put it on 1 of the walls. I think you should put it on the wall opposite to the door if it has a window
                              3. I don’t know how wide you’d want it to be… hmm. that’s a good question! But I love the idea for this shelf. I really wish I could have a room like this.

That is a really cool idea! My guess for widthe would be atleast 2x as wide as your biggest bun…probably atleast 3….
Don’t know they might wanna lay up there so you could put wider and make a large square in the corner of the room.

If your buns are 10 inches wide when laying down then you should probably make it 20 inches…but that is just my guess….
