After class, I was hungry so I walked on over to the store to buy some snacks for myself.

I purchased dried apricots (sunmaid brand) and dried figs (dunno the brand) with no added sugar.

I liked the apricots, but the figs, not so much. My bunny seemed to LOVE the dried figs, however. She liked the apricots, but not nearly as much as she liked the figs.

Can you suggest any other dried fruit (or veggies) as treats for bunnies? I’ve seen dried tomatoes, too.

The petstore treats don’t cut it. :/ Oxbow may have bunny-safe, expensive ones…

What can you tell me about natural dried prunes (no added sugar, organic)?

Prunes? Never tried those with my rabbits.

Mine like craisins and dried pineapple and papaya.

Oxbow does have freeze dried bananas and strawberries. My bunnies like both of them. They are sold in the BB store, as well as other places.

I know some people who have bought dehydrators to make dried fruit treats for their bunnies. That way they know they are giving their rabbits fruit and only fruit. Some of the store bought dried fruits have preservatives, as well as sugar. There is probably a method to dry fruit in a regular oven, using very low heat, but I’ve never looked up how that is done.

My buns love dried papaya (I like the Sunseed Papaya made for bunnies and birds, there’s no added sugar) and craisins. They also like the Oxbow bananas but they get those less often.

My Chacha bunny really likes the dried berry mix that I get from a local Target. It has no added sugar. She gets one small strawberry piece a day with 2 tiny tiny blueberries. She also loves craisins, so I rotate between the dried berries and the craisins. Plus, the craisins can be good treats for the bunny slaves too

Can I just ask, I’m from the uk, and have no idea what crainsens are, I presumed it was another word for raisins like the way you Say jello for jelly but I’m now thinking that’s not the case?

Craisins are basically just Cranberries that are like in a raisin form.

Craisins are dried cranberries, or AKA : BUNNY CRACK! … my two go nuts if they even hear the craisin bag, they’ll even bite my hand if I don’t give them to them fast enough. Brats. Mine also like apples, or even dried veggies.

That’s funny that it seems like dried cranberries seem to be a common favorite. I was once able to get dried cranberries without any added sugar, and my bunnies STILL loved them. I wonder what it is about cranberries? Bunnies love ’em!

I buy the organic, unsweetened craisins from the bulk section and my guys still love them. Although dried pineapple and especially dried papaya are their ultimate favs.

Mine aren’t allowed raisins anymore (because of the dog) so they get dried cranberries instead-and they LOVE them Dried fruit is great because it keeps forever, just remember that a dried apricot is a huge fruit (way over the two teaspoons) prior to being dried, so portion based on how big it was before it was dried !
