I still love how she begs him for grooms. Maybe you should put banana on her head and see if it works! LOL

These photo’s are cute! I just wanted to let you know if you didn’t already, feeding a bunny things with high sugars can cause problems. I would avoid them as much as you can. I know bunnies LOVE sugary things but it’s not good to feed them things like sorbet.

This is from the house rabbit societies website:

                      “Candies/Sugars

These can include everything from yogurt drops to sweetened papaya tablets. The high sugar is the culprit here. Many rabbits have a sweet tooth, but sweetness means a high content of sugars. As we discussed above, excessive sugar is converted to fat, or will pass into the cecum where the bacteria will use it for energy and then rapidly overgrow, possibly leading to bacterial imbalance and gi stasis. The same can occur after feeding too much fruit. Avoid feeding your rabbit simple sugars and instead stick with nutritious treats such as vegetables and herbs; save the sweets for an occasional raisin or banana snack.”

Amy’s Animals – I am completely aware of the dangers of feeding too many sugars; I am actually a veterinary student. Hazel has only gotten the sorbet twice in her entire life. Otherwise she only gets Oxbow papaya or cranberry treats, small pieces of fruit, or a piece of carrot as a treat, and only in the appropriate amounts (usually once daily). I only posted the picture because it was adorable to see her eating off of a spoon.

Thanks for your concern, but I was already aware of the things you told me, and do not regularly feed her foods that she shouldn’t have or that would be unhealthy for her.

The picture is cute I just was concerned because I know a lot of people feed their bunnies stuff unknowing of the dangers it can cause. I am glad that you know though! =)
