My budget is $50 because the store never sold 75$ gift cards to amazon.

Oh! A crate,, I say it’s big enough, for night only though? S/he needs lots of excersize.

She has lots of time outside of her cage and we’ll walk her out in the parking lot often.

I’m even planning a date where I can walk penelope in the local park.

I would be very very careful taking her for “walks” as especially in parks and parking lots, there are plenty of wildlife, and dogs. I’d keep her in your own yard.

Get at least teh 36″ high pen for her, any lower than that and she’d be able to jump it easily. A dog crate is eeeeh okay, IF she has a TON of out of cage time at home. A pen is preferred as it gives more play space if she can’t be out.

I would get a 36 inch pen too, the dog crates look too small, they are about the size my pug has and no way could I fit everything that I have in my rabbits pen, I think his litter box alone would take up most of the crate.

I’ve heard bad things about walking rabbits, that if they get startled and bolt they can break their bones on the harness.

We don’t have a yard and there are no dogs allowed in those parks.

But if there is a loud noise ( likes sirens or cars, etc ) or if birds fly overhead your bunny could bolt and hurt himself

Those dog crates are a little small. I would go with a 36″ dog pen. If you wanted a dog crate, this would be a better option: http://www.amazon.com/Black-Triple-door-Suitcase-Style-Folding/dp/B001QXHHRE/ref=sr_1_9?ie=UTF8&qid=1331501993&sr=8-9
I know it is $5 over your budget but its worth it because its bigger.

oh, that 49″ dog crate is pretty spiffy… im on an android phone and i dont see a free shipping option… penelope is out of her cage for most of the day and is only in there for nights and when im running errands… so… that would suffice but amazon charges 50 cents per pound for shipping.

Yeah it might be expensive for shipping. Dog kennels can be a pain to clean though. a pen may be easier. I just looked and I can’t find any dog crates that size for free shipping.

A lot of people sell used crates on Craigslist. I have a 48″ dog crate for my bunny that I got for $20 and it has a nice metal pan instead of the plastic ones that they can chew. I have gotten other crates for free on Craigslist so definitely worth a look. If you want to make a pen you could easily buy two boxes of NIC cubes from Bed Bath and Beyond for less than $40. You can make them as tall and big as you want.

I wouldn’t take her to the parking lot. Would you want your mouth an inch from the pavement? Yech. Leashes can also be dangerous for rabbits, even the H style harnesses are not a good idea. If I ever take Lady outside, I put her in her xpen on the lawn and then cover it with a fleece blanket. And then sit out there with her hah. They are a prey animal, they just don’t take to going for a walk like a dog does.
