So, I took Ralphy to the vet because the Baytril was not working, so they did do a culture on him and the vet said he has a mild Pastuerellosis. He said he might need Penicillin injected into him depending on what they find. I don’t think I could do it. I’d have to ask my Husband. He said I might not need the Penicillin though, so, we’ll know in a few days what’s going on in that little body of his.

Oh my goodness! Well at least you know what is making not feel well. Nothing is worse than not knowing! Here is a good link on snuffles I found if you have any questions regarding it. Vibes to you and your bun.

Pasturella is very common in rabbits – keeping your rabbit’s area clean and their environment stress free helps reduce the symptoms. It won’t ever go away, but it can be controlled.

I’ve done many injections and it is a challenge with the younger rabbits but once you get it down, it’s not too terribly difficult…I think you could manage.

Giv ing shots isn’t so bad.  Pull up the skin n stick n inject.    My vet insisted on doing it Cottons PennG himself once a week.   I did the baytril shots a year ago.

this is what we used for cottons pastuerella and seems it worked.     We also are using benadryl  for sneezing n congestion.     It has helped.

He is going back tomorrow to the vet n we will see if his nostril is unblocked.   I think it is cuz he is running around playing again lately.  We are also using   probiotic all this time.   That helped keep his appetite up.

Vibes for Ralphy. Hope you find something out soon.

I would rather give the bun a shot then my python. I had to give her injections for a few days once, talk about difficult. When ball pythons are scared they coil up int a ball, hence the name. We had to hold her stretched out to get the shot, which she did not like and she kept throwing herself around to get free. I was terrified she was going to impale herself on the needle. Not to mention snakes are like pure muscle and trying to maneuver an unwilling snake is never easy, especially a python species.

Giving a bun a needle sounds more scary than it is. We’ve had to do IV needles at home with Bindi. Just sit him on a blanket on your table and have a helper and a treat handy for immediately afterwards.
