That is definitely normal. Rabbit pee can range from orange, to red, to white, to yellow. It has something to do with oxidization and pigments of food. Don’t worry!!

Ok thanks! I have a question. We have white tile and he sprayed it all over the tile if I wait till morning to clean it will it stain .? And what should I use to clean it?

Just clean it with vinegar and water, it does have potential to stain depending on the material though if you leave it down too long. But if the tile is non-absorbent, it shouldn’t.

Best way to clean is with white vinegar (household vinegar). Mix one part vinegar with two parts in a spray bottle and shake. Spray on the pee spot and let it sit for a couple minutes then wipe away with paper towel. Best thing to do is to clean it up as soon as possible, for less staining and to litter box train him. But, vinegar has so far taken pee stains off of wood, plastic, tile, and carpet for me so far. Usually if you just wipe away rabbit pee with soap and water when it dries there will be a white stain, vinegar takes that away. Hope that helps

That’s a relief! Nava’s pee was slightly orange today when I was cleaning her pen and noticed she missed the box and went on the whites of her pillow bed. I panicked, but it wasn’t the color of blood and there wasn’t a lot of it so I figured it was just something she ate or something.

Another product you can try to remove urine stains/odor (if vinegar doesn’t cut it and you prefer to avoid bleach) is Nature’s Miracle enzymatic cleaner. I use either vinegar or Nature’s Miracle for urine, cat-vomit and the like.

What are you feeding your bun? Are you giving him/her something with a lot of beta carotene in it (carrots, strawberries, anything red). When I first got Huckles, I didnt know that carrots were a treat food, not a main veggies, so I would give her a full carrot every day and some strawberries for treats. She ended up peeing a bunch of red, which of course, I thought was blood and rushed her to the vet! Once I changed her diet, the pee went to being a dark yellow color.
