Scout, one of a pair of bunnies that a friend of mine at work has, passed over the Rainbow Bridge last night.  He had left me frantic messages on facebook asking if I knew of an emergency vet, but I didn’t get them until this morning after it was too late.  I know it’s not my fault but I can’t help feeling like I could have done something.

I know the little girl had just been diagnosed with arthritis that was fusing some of her spine together, but I didn’t know that it was this bad.  She leaves behind her pal Jem.

So sorry to hear about the loss of a bunny friend. You needn’t feel bad…it must have been her time to get her angel wings. Please tell your friend to give Jem lots of hugs and extra love.

I’m sorry to hear that. It sounds like a serious and painful condition, and she is over the bridge now and at peace.

Do not feel badly about the messages. If anything, let it be a reminder to us all to get a list of vets for emergencies handy and ready to find (I keep mine printed out in a file for Sammy, as well as in a software folder in my documents on my computer) so if we have a crisis we have several numbers we can call right away. Yes, call a friend for help, but also go right to your phone book if you can’t reach someone else.

Cainan, you’re a good friend and it’s kind of you to post. Hugs to your friend and Jem.
