my bunnies for some reason, love to chew on the wall. I give them lots of wood and cardboard to chew on, and they still go back to chewing on the wall. I’m not sure how to fix this when I move out, I’m guessing paint? here’s a photo:

I’ve caught them in the act all the time and tell them no, but they still do it! They’re both fixed. I used to keep their x pen closed like this when I wasn’t home to monitor them:

but, I guess I’m a sucker and I feel bad that it’s not a lot of space haha. so lately I’ve been keeping their pen open, which gives them lots of space like this… but also leaves the wall open for chewing.

any suggestions? I would hate to limit their space but I can’t have them chew anymore of my wall off or that’s going to be some serious damage haha.

The space you allowed before is pretty good. Honestly, mine choose to spend most of the day in a cardboard box no bigger than your mini haven there.
If you want to leave their pen open, I suppose you could sit a heavy plank of wood in front of the problem area. Not real convenient for you but it might block access to the wall and they could chew on the plank instead. I find they like to chew on heavy items that don’t move around.

You could fix the damage with wood putty. Prime then paint. Easy : )

oooh good idea about the wood plank. I hardly have people over so I’m not too worried about the cosmetics of my house haha. plus all my friends know how crazy I am about my bunnies and my parents are probably just as crazy as me!

I would absolutely close them off during the day when you can’t monitor them – their pen is huge and like Jersey said, they’re most likely sleeping curled into a ball while you’re gone.

To fix it, I would just paint over the bare wood. It’ll still look nibbled, but you can hope the landlord doesn’t notice 😉

Some rabbits just can’t resist the wood molding “taunting” them.  The molding in our house is more beveled to the top- does not have as much of a ledge so my bunnies ignore it.  But I have seen many photos of chewed molding- it is something that is EXACTLY in their line of sight.  A severe oversight on the person who created molding…LOL.

Line the walls with those wire grid panels. That’s what I had to do in my computer room, and I just tucked the wires between the wall and the panels.

Haha I totally understand your apartment + bunny issue…the molding in my boyfriend’s room is definitely starting to look like that too, not to mention the strategic bare spots in the carpet .  I think a fix-up won’t be too much problem (putty and/or paint, as somebody else already mentioned), but my main concern is the possible contents in the paint that’s being ingested, especially if it’s an older building

My Lexi has done the same thing. A little wood putty, sand paper, & paint can fix it right up. I’ve sprayed mine w/ 5 different bitter products… none worked. I then rubbed raw garlic on the wood and she hasn’t touched it since! Yes… my house smelled for a few days lol.
