marijuana is on the toxic list, so i suspect some nasty stuff could happen.

TOXIC toxic toxic-for dogs and cats too. Not ok at all. If you have any in your house it must be out of reach at all times, wouldn’t even chance a nibble. And make sure any smoking happens outside-very bad for their lungs.

It would probably be a very bad thing. I know that marijuana is on just about every toxic plant list, so if a bunny ate an entire plant, it would probably be a good idea to get them checked out ASAP.

One of my friend’s cats ate a whole bag of weed once and was fine. There are a lot of different types of marijuana plants so who knows. Supposedly they eat the plants in the wild, and I’ve never heard of an animal dying from eating marijuana. Just keep an eye on him.

I am so confused. Did it eat one of those plastic plant pots, or a pot plant? A pot plant here (Australia) is any plant in a pot, what kind of plant was it? I think if it ate a plastic pot i would get it to the vet.

Oh I’m sorry that this thread turned from a serious inquiry to comedy. In the U.S. you could say potted plants, but we usually say house plants. If you come here and ask for a pot plant 100% of people will assume you’re talking about marijuana, that’s too funny. And I currently have no house plants, er, “pot plants” because my cats murdered them all… so my bunny is safe.

We still call the containers that plants go into “pots.” But “pot plant” means marijuana. It’s weird. English is a tough language because of the variances of slang, I’ve been an English tutor in the past (for native Spanish speakers) and at times it’s really difficult to explain what’s going on!

Now I’m with you. So the rabbit really did eat marijuana? I’d get him to a vet.
If I ever go to America I now know not to go go a nursery and ask for a nice bushy pot plant!

I think some serious clarification is needed here – do you mean marijuana or do you mean another type of plant that is in a pot?

I had volunteered for my son’s class when he was in 3 or 4 grade.

I stated that I had some pretty pot plants by the garage.      I called them pot plants but they were potted plants not marijuana.

Oh did that cause a rucus.   Someone even came to my home to find my pot plants  lol.    I pointed to the hanging baskets that had english ivy.

What you plant a plant in is called a pot.   Or a hanging basket.

I mean it makes sense to say pot plant cuz it is a plant in a pot.    I suppose people in America got their mind on drugs  lol.

I am from Louisiana   and live in florida.    I  still call them pot plants I am not breaking any laws.  I hate marijuana anyway.   Wouldn’t have it.

                                      Thats just me though

oh heck, I’m so old and naive I saw the subject line and thought about when I used to threaten my pre-spay hormonal Pringles with the “pot” if she didn’t quit nesting.

Kind of assumed it was the drug since she didn’t say at all what kind of potted plant it was…I’d think if your bunny ate a potted house palm tree that you’d specify that, and that if they ate a pot plant, it’d be the illegal kind

Anyways I know it’s a theoretical question; Hope we answered you either way. To the OP could you update us on if that actually happened?

I am stepping in for the definitive advice on what would happen. Here goes:
If the Pot Plant is in the USA, and is marijuana,

You and your bunny will be arrested. It is illegal. Don’t start a young bunny’s life with a record. Just say “NO.”

If it is a Potted Plant, otherwise known as a pot plant, (and I agree with BT on all points), then you must take your bunny to a vet for eating plastic and an unknown plant in a pot, or for a broken tooth because a ceramic or clay pot can’t be chewed.

This is your bunny’s brain. This is your bunny’s brain on drugs. Any questions?
