The knee surgery 10/18 went very well.   I walked out. Those stairs aren’t any fun still aren’t.

i had  2 dr appmnts wednesday and over did my knee it hurt so bad.  Glad I had some pain pills left over.

The appmnt for getting my stitches out thursday I didn’t go wasn’t going to further aggravate knee. She is not going to be happy that hubby took the stitches out himself.  lol  Then again she might be glad cuz thursday was the 9th day they were in.  It was time for them to come out.

I will see her next week.

Knee still doesn’t bend enuf not to limp and the stairs I have to take 1 at a time.  Knee can’t bend enuf to use it yet.

I still have a little limp but today I made myself walk normal.  Went ok for a short short while. Once I felt it starting to act up I stopped.

        Doing ok.  Glad it’s done.

Cotton has been keeping me company.  Hubby too and Ruby my precious Ruby.   Hubby has been so nice n helpful.  I am so proud of him.

HE got this old wheelchair a few month ago.  He pushed me to the laundry room I did laundry he pushed me back and took the clothes up n down all himself.  He vacuumed for me.  He took me for a walk he pushing the wheelchair.

I am so tired of being stuck upstairs let me tell you.

When i was crossing over the bunny gate which was quite easy   I accidentally bend my knee and it seemed to be stuck for a minute. Scared me.

I have been very careful since.

Going to bed now hopefully I will have more time tomorrow to see whats fun here and interesting and serious too

Glad it went well I hear ya on stairs… they are still quite annoying for me at times too. Especially now, with the weather being all colder and damp.

            BT,
Sooooo glad it’s behind you now. You sound like you’re healing pretty well. Any prediction on when you will be able to walk on it again and feel better as a result of having this procedure?

Glad to hear this surgery went well, and I know what you mean about the knee sticking when it isn’t working right. In 8th grade I went over a hurdle in track and landed hard enough on my left leg to bend my knee backward. Never went to the doc, but figured I had a cartilage injury…for about six weeks my knee was stuck in a bent position and I couldn’t move it forward or back. My gym teacher thought I was just faking it to get out of suiting up.

Many healing vibes coming your way! ((((((((((((((((((((((((bunnytowne))))))))))))))))))))))))

BT!!! I’m so clued out I didn’t know about your surgery!!! I’m glad it went well!!! Are you doing any physiotherapy afterwards? The lady I work with who just did that surgery is doing stairs sideways and seems to be doing well because of it. Hope your feeling well soon!!!!! *HUGS*

                  thank you everyone.

I see a knee dr tomorrow so I hope to find out when I will be back to normal.  It was a challenge to clean the cages n litterboxes yesterday.

Had to stick my right leg out to the side so I could bend the left knee to get low enuf to get stuff done and sit down sometimes on the floor too.

It seems to be taking forever but it has only been 13 days so far.  Kind of in a rush I want to go walking and get back to normal.

BT, have you been doing your leg exercises every day? Did they give you some to do? I know that was key for my mother’s recovery, we did her knee exercises 3 times a day and it was so effective she didn’t need to go for physio at all. Her knees were really, really bad – in fact she’d actually lost 3 inches in height because they were so worn, she was pleased to get that back with the replacements in. And yes, the exercises hurt. But you have to do them to keep the muscles moving, and occasionally massage the incision site to keep scar tissue from forming between the skin and the muscle which will prevent movement.

I went today the dr told me about the exercises.  Non weight bearing  biking.  Just don’t overdo it and strain myself.

HE also told me he had surgery the same one in sept.  He is doing good now.   I said oh great in 2 months I will be back to normal.  The bad news is he said no I never said 2 months.   He said it would be a couple of months it will be a while.

So now to dig that thing I bought that you sit it on the floor and pedal it.   Also discussed the stairs and it isn’t ready to bend and lift me up them.  Still gotta go leading with the left to go up and the right to go down.

The exercises my mother was given were all ones that worked on bending and stretching. Some of them she did laying down on the bed, some of them she did standing by the kitchen counter. I think there were about 10 or 12 in total. We found out that they’re basically the same exercises they do in their “knee clinic” at physio, they just try to get people to do them at home as well.
