Hey guys, so I had to take the day off work today cuz the lady of the bunny organization asked if i could have an open “bunny” house viewing today. The buns are 6 wks. so they will pretty soon be leaving.  I had about 15 potential adopting parents the 2 ladies from the organization were here and all 15 filled out and submitted the forms to be able to adopt. The only sad part was that nobody really wanted the baby bun with the red eyes  The lady from the organization (martha) said its kinda hard to place bunnies with red eyes cuz people tend to get “weirded” out by it. Personally I think she is ADORABLE with her lil grey nose and paws Alot of the people who came asked about the personality of each and the REW is more of the shy type and likes to hide but is SUPER curious when left alone, she also likes to follow you. So i dont know if that was a big turn off for some people too, but she LOVES to cuddle and and be petted but not so much active. The most active one is the black otter his the trouble maker and jumps around alllll day and gets excited to see me or my daughter. He looooooves to be carried and gives lots of kisses so he was a BIG hit today cuz he gave everyone who carried him kisses. The others were a big hit too because of the same reason, kisses they gave kisses and the REW didnt its not that she’s not loving she is just shy and jittery when picked up.

i have to keep chomper in the cage when buns are out because lately he has not been so fond of them and tends to get a bit rough. The one you see in front of chomp’s cage had 2 forms submitted for him.

This is the whole gang they were trying to find a way to get into zoe’s cage

This is them inside their nest box. They insist on sleeping all cramped up in there. The visitors found that extremely cute today. ALL 7 sleep in there, even though ive attached to to a waaaaaay bigger box for them but they insist on being in there.

The black otter was a big hit today and the nosy one in the middle was too, you can imagine why.

my poor stella had no luck today hopefully she will be requested soon.

Look at her cute grey nose and paws, her ears are grey too but is kinda hard to see.

          Squeeeee!!!!
You’re killing me. I LOVE white and gray, and I had a guinea pig with red eyes for 6 years that I absolutely adored. I cannot understand not wanting a bunny that exquisitely adorable. Grrrrrrr.

          If I didn’t live in FL….

I’m sure someone of a higher aesthetic and enlarged spirit will be along shortly for her. She is obviously a very special bun and is waiting for a very special person. Please tell her I said so.

awwww thank you guys!!! and markbun that is cuuuute!!! LOL!!! im pretty sure Stella will be requested, i find her adroable!!! and she hates being alone so who ever takes her is gonna need to be a stay at home mommy or daddy or is gonna have to get her a bunny friend. She loves to sleep behind pillows and under blankies and is really good with her litter habbits. There are so many pluses to her that i cant see how her red eyes can deter someone from loving her. I will miss them all GREATLY but ill be happy to know they are going to great homes where they will be spoiled. I knew being a foster mom would have its down but there are many more up’s to it.They dont run away from people maybe because I’ve handled them since newborns so they are used to being handled, but still Stella insists on not having people sneak up on her or pick her up w/ out her okay. She more of a laidback bunny then an active bunny.

There is something almost Roo like about Stella. She’s a REW Roo. lol
Is she smaller then the rest too? Someone will find her, she’s a standout.

Is there any update on the parents of these buns? Did the shelter find homes for them? Also, Zoes remaining kits, I know Wednesday went to live with the vet but didn’t read if the others have homes.

At least we know Stella will have an awesome home until her special family comes for her! Hugs for you! I am so thankful you wre able to help these buns. You are truly amazing!

And what a neat idea to have a baby bunny open house! This way people get to see them in their natural environment instead of a cold, stark room.

Last I heard the buns mom had to be put down she had many ailments (she was peeing blood, literally!!! thick blood and wasnt pooping) and found out she had 2 broken ribs (god only knows how long she had her ribs broken). Im guessing someone let her fall or kicked her or something, they tried getting her healthy but she wasnt responding well and was in alot of pain. The dad is in a foster home and doing okay though his not being put up to adoption quiet yet since his really skittish and refuses to have contact with anybody.  As for Zoe’s remaining kits Mellow and Coke they both left to their perspective homes and are doing great Coke’s new momma send me a halloween postcard with a picture of him and giving me thanks for givng her such a great and well socialized bunny. It ws really hard to give away Zoe’s kits since they were Zoe’s but I really couldnt keep them, I wouldnt have enough time for each one and that wouldnt be fair for them. I was able to get a $50 dollar certificate towards a spay/neuter for Mellow and Coke so I sent that to the new parents so that they could get them spay/neuter when its time. I got the Idea from the rabbit organization, with every bunny they adopt out they make the owners sign a pledge to spay/neuter their new baby buns when they come to age and sends them a $100 voucher towards a spay/neuter as a reminder and incentive to get them fixed ASAP, if they recieve notice the voucher hasnt been used they call up the owners to see whats going on or if there is a problem that is preventing them from taking the buns to get spayed neuter. I think that pretty cool so decided to do the same for Mellow and Coke, Wendesday with no doubt will get neutered, so i dont worry much with him because I know his with someone who is very knowledgeable on the subject and how important it is.

Thats what the organization was going for I think its great too since they got to see how active they are and got to see how they are inside the house as free range buns. Everybody was surprised to see that they are able to recognize the owner and follow. Stella spend most of her time hiding behind my legs and ran everytime someone tried to get her where as the others walked right up to them and tried climbing them as if they were jungle gyms. lol!!! They also got to see the bunny proofing they would have to do to their homes if they decide to have an indoor free range bun. So yeah I think its a great idea, they were also able to see how the bunny they wanted reacted around kids since Luna was around and was handling all of them so they were able to see that too, which i know is a concern for parents. There is only one bun who refuses to be picked up by Luna and tries bitting if Luna picks him up and Luna knows this very well well.

I think you have been having a wonderful ordeal, and will have a bad case of Empty Nest Syndrome soon, judging from the great turnout for your fosters and parents for Zoe’s kits. You should be very, very proud, as should Zoe. Their own mother is smiling at you all from the bridge.

Well I’ve been thinking about it and if nobody requests her by the end of of her 2nd month I might just do that. I’ve heard its even harder to place them in homes past the 2 months. (alot of ppl. want them as babies) I think I can handle 3 buns. lol! plus ive noticed with her that she gets really attached to her surroundings and the people and buns around her. If that happens I think i might just turn the spare room to a bunny room, thinking of having my boyfriend build some rabbit hutches in there and give it a complete remodeling for them. I was saving the spare room for when I decided to have another baby, but yeah thats not gonna happen anytime soon. =D

Aww that would be awesome if you could keep her. She’s really cute, my Bun has those markings too and I absolutely adore them. I’m a huge siamese cat fan so that was why when I saw the photo of Bun I had to have her. Even after all the diva-tude! I don’t understand why people are scared of their eyes…Bun’s eyes are the size of quarters and red…when I first got her and showed her off to my friends, they first commented on her demon eyes…same on facebook when I added her photos, people said she was evil looking. They were joking of course but yeah I guess it’s common for people to not like them. I mean come on let’s face it you already named her…. hehehe. I bet that really you just hide her when people come over to see the babies!!! Ahhh sorry yea….only these spotted ones and the black otter need homes…..mmmmhmmm…..

I love Stella too. The only thing I find “weird” about her is that she was not the FIRST to be in demand! She is enormously special-looking, part himalayan… and coupled with the amazing story of how you got them out of the tunnel… too precious.

The photo with the pillow is priceless!

LOL!!! Petzy i think your confusing this baby bunch with Coke, Mellow, and Wednesday! Stella is part of the bunch that I’m fostering cuz the momma and dad were taken away from the owners for animal cruelty. Coke, Mellow, and Wednesday are Zoe’s Kits and are the ones that Zoe had in the tunnel. But Stella still has an amazing story to go with her! I think its the eyes that “weird” out alot of ppl though, i dont see why since I think they are cute there more on the pink side then on the red.
