I’d love to Petzy – it’s been years and years and years since I’ve been to Canada and I loved it. I only got a chance to visit Ottawa, Toronto, Montreal and Quebec so I’d love to see more.

Andi, which shelter do you work at? I am in Vancouver and didn’t know there was such a thing!

I volunteer with SARS, we technically don’t advertise our small shelter b/c we don’t want people dumping animals there, or causing problems. 90% of our animals are in foster homes but the 70 or so rabbits. It’s in Aldergrove and we’re always looking for volunteers

I actually applied to volunteer at the Surrey SPCA’s bunny barn but they never got back to me… so I would love the opportunity to volunteer! I actually live in Langley (I say Vancouver because many people don’t know where Langley is!) so Aldergrove isn’t very far at all. Is it an actual shelter or is it someone’s house?

An actual shelter. We have volunteers go at certain times in pairs or more each day to feed and do small cleanings. Saturdays are the large cleanings, and Sundays are open to the public from noon till 2 or 3. I don’t have any recent pictures but I’ll see what i do have and post them in another thread.

Okay thanks so much! I saw there is an email on their website to get in contact with someone for volunteering, so I will be doing that

I love garage sales too! Though we rarely buy anything…so strange now that I think about it, but when we do buy stuff– watch out! We have found amazing stuff— brand new garden gate liners, a 1920’s antique Victrola with 150 old records to play on it, a really cool lamp, a brand new crystal growing science kit for our nephew, a gorgeous clock that just had a broken hand, that Steve fixed in less than 5 minutes etc, etc and…etc.

Anyways what fun and it all goes to such a good cause. I too wish I could be there!
