do all bunnies know how to drink from a water bowl?  the new baby i have doesnt seem to be drinking from the bowl.  she has stepped in it so many times and i just took it out.  i replaced it with a water bottle and im watching to see if she will drink from that.  there was no water at all in her cage at the store so im not sure what she knows how to drink from.  should i syringe water to her if i dont see her drink before i go to bed?  she has had one teeny tiny very hard poop in the last 7 hours.  i think she has peed once but im not sure if its wet on her rug from her stepping in the water bowl or if its really pee. im so worried about stasis.  there was no food for her neither.  she has eaten a few pellets here but she wont touch any hay and took a tiny nibble of parsley.  i feel like if we didnt get her she would prob have died in that store.  im so sorry for the other one that was sharing a cage with her.

          one poop only??
try syringe-feeding her some water then. Little buns often don’t eat hay yet. She is also just adjusting to her new surroundings.
If she were in stasis she would be uncomfortable, not exploring.
You can teach her to drink from a bottle but I would offer a bowl and a bottle to her. Rub some banana on the sipper part of the bottle.

edit: watch her though, she should be eating the pellets. is she going to the vet soon, did you say?

Is that even legal? I would ring the store and tell them you had concerns about this. They may reassure you. Hopefully someone was off replacing their water…. If you know that not to be the case – I kinda think this store should be reported. Clean drinking water is the most basic thing that should be provided.

If she’s 3 months old like you suspect, she is DEFINITELY old enough for hay. Its just more likely that no one bothered to give her any in the past, so she doesn’t associate it with being food. Keep trying to get her to eat some.

She could just be stressed out from the car ride and new environment. I know I read that somewhere about that because I was worried about Blossom. I would keep an eye on her, and get her into the vet to check. Heck I’m useless :p I just say what everyone else has! I was just worried about Indy not drinking; if’s she’s 3 months, did you try any veggies soaked in a lot of water?

thanks everyone. she is doing lots better today. all of the water in her bowl was gone when i checked it this morning. it doesnt seem like she drank at all from the bottle but i will keep it in there for a while. id much rather have her drinking from a bowl anyways. so much easier and less mess (unless she decides to put things in it)

i made an appt for tomorow at 11am for zoey and julia.
