My rabbit, Coco has developed a square centimeter sized rash on his back.  The rash/bruise seems to have dried blood on it  and there is no fur growing on or around the rash.  We’re not sure if its a rash or he might have injured himself while crawling under a table.  He is eating normally and is using the litterbox regulary.  We are taking him to the vet, but were wondering if anyone will have an idea what this might be.

Hi, from you’re description it sounds like ringworm. Of course, I haven’t seen it nor am I a vet. This is just a guess. Ringworm is just a fungal infection on the skin and really easy to treat. Other guesses are, as you said, an injury….or maybe mites? Best your vet see and diagnose. fyi though, if given treatment for fleas or mites never let a vet give Frontline as it’s fatal for rabbits. Revolution or Advantage are safe for them. Goodluck in sorting this out for Coco!

could be an injury, an abscess, mites, ringworm etc. etc. Best to just go to the vet and then you’ll know.

I don’t think it’s panic worthy (ie. don’t freak out!) but go to the vet today if possible-it’s best to treat these things early

Welcome by the way Please let us know how it goes!
