Every now and then we all like to talk about the great experiences we have with our bunnies!

Today as I was just petting Perry I laid down on the floor and then he came and groomed my face and licked my arms!! I was ecstatic as it was the very first time Perry has licked me . I was smitten and happy too know that my bun bun loves me.

All great memorable experiences with your buns, come share!!

Aww, that’s so sweet! You’re lucky that he’s bonded with you so fast. It took months before I got anything like a lick 🙂 He must feel really comfortable with you.

My bun will lick me on the nose if I offer a treat first, but it makes me mad that he’ll lick my husband without a bribe 😛 Last night he licked me 4 times without a treat in sight! Haha. Nothing beats a bunny kiss, especially when you don’t have to buy it with bits of dried papaya 😉

Vader licked me and my boyfriend to death the first night we had him he’s very comfortable with just about anything you do to him or anywhere you take him though. We spent the day at my mom’s and he flopped right over and took a nap in the first 30 mins lol. He’s at my boyfriend’s for a few days, and the first day he was flopping and binky’ing like crazy. He’s just a happy kid

but it’s gross when he licks me after eating parsley, because he likes to lick my nose/forehead, and has parsley breath, and it’s pretty nasty smelling

vaderslave, my bun has tried to lick my husband right after eating his poo. Eek! Talk about bad breath.

Well both mine peed on me last night, I was lying on the floor reading a book and they where both on my back and we had a massive crash of thunder and they went flying and I realise both of them have lost control of their bladder in fear and I had to have a shower!

Oh those poor things! Thunder can be a pretty scary thing for pets to experience!! Has anyone vacummed with their pets in the same room? Are rabbits scared of vacuums like dogs??

My 2 are terrified of the vacuum. Monkey tries desperately to get away from it, dashing from one end of her cage to thee other.. there is no way she’d stay in the pen with it going. She forgives me after when I give her raisins tho Moose hides in his litter box til the evil yellow machine is gone.

Pepper attacks the vacuum – she’s not afraid of anything!

Anya will just go sit in her cage as she knows that is the only place in the room that does not get vacumed. Bugz tries to hump the vacum *face palms* it makes it hard as I am worried that I am going to run over his foot or suck him up to the vacum pipe. He is getting better normally i “chase” him back into his cage with treats and fresh food and try and vacum while he is not watching!

Elrohwen, Vader does that too lol he was sitting on the back of the couch, “cleaning himself” (aka eatin poo directly from the source) and must’ve been stuffin the poop pellets in his mouth cause he forgot and went to lick my boyfriend and 3 poops fell out of his mouth onto my bf’s shoulder…. and then tried to lick him some more. It was really really funny.

Ohh that makes me anxious about vacuuming now! the hallway is a wee bit of a mess and need to clean it up . So far he’s coped with many noises, zooming cars, metal crashes etc.

Guess I won’t really know till I take the plunge aye! Wish me luck

Haha – Frankie is NOT afraid of the vacuum whatsoever. He will stand still and stare it down – he won’t even move out of the way until it’s about to run him over!

Cute stories!! Bkysiu, that’s great that your bunny is licking you already! I love bunny kisses. Vaderslave, that story about the poos falling out of his mouth was HILARIOUS! Thanks for making my day!

As for vacuuming. Leroy does pretty well. He initially was really scared of the noise, so what I did was vacuum one room while he was in another so he could hear the noise at a lower level. Then I started vacuuming while Leroy was in the room, but doing only the half that he wasn’t on and going no where near him. That way he got used to the sounds/movement and realized that the vacuum wasn’t going to come near him and eat him! Also, leave the vacuum out (with the cord wound up and out of the way!) for a bit after you vacuum so your bunny can go over and check things out on his own terms while the vacuum is off. Now Leroy’s so comfortable with me vacuuming that I have to nudge him with my foot to get him to move so I can vacuum under him!

Both my buns are scared of the shop vac when it’s cleaning their condo. One day, maryann decided to attack it and before I knew what was up, her face was sucked into it. I was scared to death but she seemed to shake off the experience without any real trauma.

Then I found the severed horse head on my couch…

                                            Lol Mark.

At the rescue they use a shop vac to get up bits of hay and stray poos. My first day there I accidentally sucked up a bunny! Luckily it was only her side, not her face 😛 She did not like me after that and I felt like a total putz.

I did vacuum the other day! I started off in the kitchen where he could hear the vacuum but not see it. Then as I got closer he just hid behind his big log. His reaction was better than I hoped for because he didn’t go spastic nor did he go frantic, instead he just hid and pretended the vacuum cleaner couldn’t see him lol…it’s like the vacuum was real to him.

hahaha, that’s funny. My big ol girl, Pringles will run behind a really skinny table leg and think she’s totally hidden.
