I’m a first time bunny owner by a series of fortunate events.. My boyfriend’s mother moved out of state and did not want to take her rabbit with her. We also have her two dogs that she “should” be coming back for by the end of this month. Hah.

Anyways, I am now owned by a strange rabbit. He was raised with a dog.. yeah, i don’t know how that worked out. Don’t really want to know. He was in a smallish cage on pine bedding and being fed whole apples and ice burg lettuce along with a loooot of pellets.

So, I did what any self respecting animal lover would do and got him set up in a nice NIC cage (that was fun to make!), got him on Oxbow (his owner didn’t even leave any food for him to eat..), a large litter box, aspen, and hay. It was so strange to see him not eat his hay at first.. guess Timothy isn’t his thing (I’m allergic to it anyways, haha), but now he loves oat and orchard grass! He’s a silly little boy and doesn’t quite understand what it is to be a bunny but he’s learning. The first time he popcorned was fantastic to see and just yesterday he was binkying around so quickly he hit the wall.

Anyways! Presenting Mister Bunington (anyone know what sort of rabbit he is? He looks like a dark gray, almost black, but his under coat is a very light grey, and clearly he looks brown in certain light), eater of jeans and the gracious master of MyBoyfriend’sRoom Manor.

And his residence, I’ve since redone it a little, moved things around. He leaves the wires alone when he’s out of the cage, but we’re going to cover them as soon as the next paycheck comes in.

Wow, he’s cute! So glad he is in better hands. I have no idea what breed he is – most likely a mix (the best kind in my opinion).

Psh… don’t listen to Sarita. There is no such thing as a best kind of rabbit. He’s really cute, glad to hear he has someone who cares.
