So I was testing out some new toy creations I made today with my rabbit Elvis and he seemed to really like this one.

I took an empty paper egg carton and cut four holes in the top like so:

        http://i28.tinypic.com/2u7nhog.jpg

(sorry, it’s a bad example but it’s what I could make in 30 secs.)

I cut the holes so they were big enough for him to stick his nose in, but small enough where he can’t reach anything. Then I filled each little egg compartment with little bits of hay, timothy pellets, raisins, and Mini Fruit & Vegi Hearts (avaliable here:http://www.bunnybytes.com/cgi-bin/start.cgi)

Then I closed the carton and let the games begin. He was so frustrated that he couldn’t reach the treats. He scratched and chewed at the carton, and then he realized that if he flipped it upside down and tossed it around, treats would fall out!  This is pretty similar to the treat bag idea on this site, but I just wanted to share this with you guys.

Oo.. I should go find those little half-dozen thigns of eggs at the store and buy one to use the box for Monkey, the big dozen ones are too big for her :p

                That sounds fun.

I don’t see many paper egg cartons at my store anymore. Be sure not to try this with the styrofoam ones.

Lol ditto, I will have to look for a cardboard egg carton. A change of eggs won’t be bad.

Good idea!! Both of my bunnies love to toss things, so a 1/2 dozen egg carton may work. I will have to cut holes and fill it with goodies!
