After struggling to push Sammy into my old carrier (Spockie’s), I decided to check out the Cabrio Pet Carrier again. And found it at Petsmart. Some of you may remember the post about it last Sept. and we had trouble locating it in the US. Well, I found it up the street at my local Petsmart, on sale from $80 down to $50. I also got a soft pad that just fits into the bottom for Herself to have a comfortable ride home.

It was hard to assemble, and being plastic parts, it didn’t match up exactly. I did it a second time to be sure, and it’s done. Hard and a bit heavy.

So I would like to know, does anyone have this? Do you like it? Was it worth the extra $? Would a top loading soft sider do as well?

I really wanted something I can set her into more easily, plus the vet had a hard time getting her out on our last visit and I’m afraid to ask her if it was a problem today. If I decide to keep this new one, I will call her and tell her to wait until I get there tomorrow, rather than try to get her into the old one again.

Opinions, please, while I still have time to return it before tomorrow!

Wow, that is really… soemthing. ;o)

I have no experience with that brand. I have a top opening Marchioro carrier that I LOVE, cost me about 30 bucks and it’s a medium size, perfect for two buns. I do not like soft carriers b/c bunnies chew (in case you were not aware lol!) and they pee/poop. Plastic can be taken apart and thoroughly cleaned. Even the basic carriers that don’t open on top. They all have clips around the middle. Worst case scenario you could just take the top off and on.

Beka, Marchioro was the other kind that I couldn’t think of. A top opening one like you have would be great, but I can’t find it in my local stores online. I found it on Amazon, but should have thought of this earlier in the week. The one I got is about the same size, so maybe it’s similar. Came with a shoulder strap and two attachable food dishes.

                  Sorry, K&K.
I was about to ask you if this was too commercial a post, since I just re-read BB’s guidelines and rules. OK to delete it, but I was not so much recommending it as searching for someone who already bought it and could say “it’s great” or “return it immediately.” Reviews.

I think I will keep it since I stopped at Target and didn’t find Beka’s type of carrier and I may be glad I have it down the line. I like the water/food dish feature in case of hurricanes, but it’s made for cats so no built in litter pan. I’m as demanding as my little diva.

I had been ogling this at the UK’s Pet Extraordinarium online…but they wouldn’t ship it to me because the general conscience of the store finds it ridiculous what they would have to charge for mailing. So I was hoping to find it at my local PETCO. No dice.

If you decide you don’t want it, I’ll take it! *grins* I think that’s a pretty good price, considering what I would’ve had to pay for it overseas.

I do have a wonderful carrier for my cats, it may be the Marchioro Beka spoke of, but I really don’t know. It has convenient little clips that pull off easy for top lifting, but then, I always worry the darned thing is going to spring open at any inconvenient time and I will lose my precious cargo.

Hope all went well with the spay today!

                      Hi, MM,
I just read your report on Shadow. What an ordeal! I doubt he ate it prior to very recently. Maybe he buried bits in the snow a few weeks back. I think I love your vet.

Yes, this was the one you mentioned. I had bookmarked it on that site in England, then googled out of curiosity today. Imagine my surprise to find it in Petsmart – and there were two in stock up the street. (Hmm. Want to come to FL and go shopping?) You might want to look it up online since the sale was on line first, then in the store, then another 9 bucks off at the register. I wondered why, but who can understand retail? I think I will keep it and use it tomorrow. Would prefer something a wee bit smaller, but the cushion fits exactly, so Sammy will not slide or need extra padding around the edges. Then I’ll just put the pad into her house.

I keep thinking of her now. I think she may be confused where she is. Hope she’s OK tonight.

It’s those ‘feelings’ that come upon one out of nowhere that kind of creep me out…sometimes in a good way, other times, it just makes you wonder.

I am sure she is well. Take a moment with a cup of tea, sit calmly and find your center, and send her some ‘don’t worry-I’ll see you tomorrow’ vibrations. I am sure she will feel them and it will help calm you both. ^_^

LOL I’ve been sending her messages just like that.

I remember when I would be at work and suddenly feel like Spockie was distressed and calling me. Then it would go away. When I got home he’d be fine, but there’d be a note from Maintenance or the exterminator that they’d been there to do some work. He was upset with strangers visiting. Or there’d be mushy poopies from earlier in the day.

So maybe my girl is missing her Mummy too. Will “tell” her to rest and I’ll do the same.

Actually, I’m thinking with current expenses, it’ll be awhile for me, sale or no sale.

Probably just as well. So far our carriers work just fine, it’s just the bunnies having to put up with hubby’s crazy driving that worries me. 0_o

Some shut eye sounds delightful. But I think I’m still up for awhile. Must dog-proof that back room better before my boy comes home tomorrow.

Exactly, BT! I walk by it and it looks great if I’m sending Sammy to the moon, but a bit much for a trip to the vet. LOL

Wow Pam – that really is the Beez Kneez! Puts me to shame, I don’t even use a proper pet carrier, just a basket like this.

                                    OMG JG that’s so beautiful!!!!
                                    I downloaded it immediately.

Maybe when she’s home I’ll get her one just like it.

I’ve decided to keep the Jetsons Carrier. It’s really nice and it may be something I’m glad to have for her later as well.
