We had an adoption show today (6 adoptions, woot!), and as usual, we were doing free nail trims.  Three of my former foster bunnies came to the show with their forever families to get manicures!  It was so great to see them with their adopters.  Sometimes it gets overwhelming to see all of the bunnies out there that need help, but to see these beautiful, well cared for and loved bunnies really makes it clear why we do what we do.

The Red Door volunteers love SpaDiDah days because they get to see so many former residents coming back to visit, all healthy and happy!  One lady always stops to pet Pepper “and how is my little firecracker girl doing!”.  And I love meeting all the bunny people with all the different kinds of buns. Last time there was a veritable invasion of Netherland Dwarfs – six came in one carrier!  Big bunnies and little bunnies and lazy bunnies and explor-y bunnies and bunnies who bite and bunnies who like cuddles……

Awesome ammount! Was this a mobile adoption? How many did you take with you?

We have 3 shows a month, 2 at Petsmart in Santa Cruz and one at For Other Living Things in Sunnyvale.  We do not have a shelter, all of our bunnies are in foster care in people’s homes, so I guess all of our adoptions are modile.  At the Sunnyvale show we usually show 6 – 10 bunnies, and at the Santa Cruz show we usually have around 20 of our bunnies plus a few from the local shelters that we show.
