Baby bunnies sold illegally on the streets of LA – it’s a reality my rescue has been dealing with for four years.

These bunnies are bred, taken from their mothers anywhere from 1 to 2 weeks old, placed in a cage with carrots and sold on the street for $20. Unknowing buyers usually have a dead bunny by the next day. It’s animal abuse at its best, and we are working to put a stop to it.

Our rescue needs help getting the word out about our beautiful adult rabbits (or “Lucky Bunnies” as we call them.) They need places to go, and our resources are running low.

I foster 16 adults in my home right now, and will be relocating at the end of August and will not be able to take ALL of them with me.

Does anyone have any suggestions, contacts, advice for me? I do not want to see these guys put down, especially after all the time, money, energy, blood, sweat and tears that have gone into saving their lives.

ANY information would be greatly appreciated…

        Thank you so much…

I would contact your local animal control officer for two reasons: First, to report these abuses where and when you see them for immediate action. It’s not legal, those doing it must be stopped and there are laws in place to make that happen. Second, let the Animal Control Officers and departments know about your shelter, your name, location and contact information. Ask them to give the heartbroken owners who have bought these poor babies that died, who might be contacting their office, about your rescue org. They can get in touch with you via a business card you can leave with the officers and at their department.

Due to spamming, we do not allow the posting of email addresses on this site, for your protection, I have edited out your email above. You may use the Message Center for any personal contact via the site here.
