My bunny Lulu had the same thing earlier last year. It started out as a small bald spot like this:

But then got bigger and had two spots right next to each other and looked like your picture above. Here is a video I took of it.

We took her into the vet and they did a scraping but nothing showed up but my vet said that a lot of times they scrapings do not show mites in rabbits! She prescribed Revolution and we had to put it on every week or so (can’t quite remember) and I cleared it right up. My vet also said that sometimes when rabbits are born they will get mites from their mothers and it wont show up until a year or so later and my bunny was about a year when she had it. I am not saying your rabbit has mites, but I am a little curious as to why you vet did the scraping and because it came back negative doesn’t think he has mites.

Also he has it right behind his neck too! Here is a link about fur loss if you want to read it (although the mite pictures showed here are extremely sever!) :
http://www.bio.miami.edu/hare/furloss.html#furmite
we have done two doses the last time he had it over the course of two weeks. then followed up with the vet and it was about 2 weeks later the hair grew back. so I thought it was the same this time, but my vet said she didnt think it was. so she was researching other possible causes, I am gonna have her try the revolution again anyway when we go back to the vet again.

Yes, Revolution again certainly wouldn’t hurt. .

Maybe an adjusted dosage now that Blue has gotten so big!

My vet said similar to Mochas. She looked at fur under microscope rather then doing skin scraping and found some eggs. This was a while ago when my pair were getting bald spots but no dry scaly skin, flakes or itching so it didn’t look like typical fur mite.

that was the other thing, Baby our mini lop has no hair loss and also was negative on the skin scrap and she is ALWAYS next to him. Granted he is molting, perhaps its just extreemly bad with him?

Mocha never got bald spot and he was bonded to Lulu and always snuggling and grooming. The vet treated him too though just encase.
