It’s Jenna this time.

She has had skin and fur problems for the last two years which actually may be due to the mite problem in the buns. Well today she almost tore a two inch long hole in her right front leg from the armpit to mid leg. Scared me to death but after a wash and some neosporin it’s doing a bit better. However she’s got a huge hickie now all the way from the bend in her leg to midleg.

She’ll be seen by the new vet (a different practice) tomorrow at 10 a.m.

Please pray this turns out to be something easily sorted and that I can manage to drive safely at 9 in the morning as I still don’t sleep through the night worth a darn. >_<

Did they check for grass allergies previously ? Poor little Jenna, my sisters dog had shocking grass allergies his entire life and he was miserable most of the time.

Oh MM! Don’t you feel like wrapping them up in cotton wool?! But that’s no life for them huh. These animals!!! ((((vibes))) for her leg AND a happy vet visit. You never know… This new vet might have answers for her allergies too. I’m hoping they’re even the new vet you’re seeming for all the furries.

She’s never been allergy tested. If it is grass then the hay for the bunnies isn’t helping.
I’ve noticed odd breathing patterns in her too lately…so I hope it’s not anything pulmonary/circulatory.
I was afraid she was early onset Cushings’ two years ago, but her tests have come back negative so far.

Ironically Jerz, these are the folks who pointed me to my lovely rabbit vet…who is now gone.
They don’t see exotics here. So I’m still in search of a replacement for her. I doubt anyone will measure up though … she was one in a million.

Poor little Jenna. ((((Healthy Doggy Vibes)))))

I would never suggest using anything without your vet’s consent, but there is a product I use for my horse called Shapley’s M-T-G. My horse gets a lot of dandruff and gross stuff in her tail and I was applying it yesterday and another boarder mentioned how she loves M-T-G and how after numerous vet visits and tests, she tried it on her dog and it’s the only thing that helped him. Her dog has a skin condition between his toes. If your vet approves, it might be worth a shot. It’s used for all types of skin conditions and infections.

http://www.valleyvet.com/ct_detail….70fhttp://

You can buy it online or at a tack/farm store.

A few years ago, Winnie’s tail was so bad that she rubbed off almost all the hair at the top and M-T-G cleared it up and the hair grew back.

ps. You might want to change the name of this thread. I assumed “Goggy” meant “Doggy”.

I concur with LPT, M-T-G is a godsend! If your vet approves it, its definitely worth a try!

We use it alllll the time at horse rescue I volunteer at, and it’s done wonders for so many different cases I wont even try to list them

Thanks everyone! Sorry for not updating, everything is crazy busy and since the My Topics shortcut doesn’t seem to work on my phone I couldn’t find this thread again! 0_o
Jenna is doing okay…we got drops/ointment for her ears and a new shampoo and little wipes for her feet. The vet wanted to put her on temaril-p (a steroid…no thanks) but the other vet used that on Ebon for a spay stitch that was embedded in her skin and ut really messed her up….she hadn’t been the same since.

I will ask about the M-T-G, thanks. We can’t lose anything by trying. Personally I think my house may just be too old and full of dirt/pests/allergens and what we all could really use is a new place to live. Ah well…one can dream!
Oh…and Jenna needs a new shave. The vet suspects her hair just holds in too many irritants. And winter is imminent…we had forecasts for snow on our hills today. Yikes on toast! I’ll have to get Jenna a set of ski bibs!
Thanks for the vibes and for thinking of my wee pup…she’s only seven pounds but she thinks she’s a sled doggy. xD

BTW…the vet I saw has her own bunnies! How cool is that? So yes…hoping I’ve found my new exotics vet! (Dances)

Snow already!! Yikes! Yesterday here felt like July.

Glad to hear she’s doing ok! More vibes for her recovery

My oldest dog also has skin irritant problems. She’s had it since she was little. Occasionally she chews herself pretty bad on her legs & just above her tail. We used something with an antiseptic in it like an anti-itch gel or spray. With the creams, they tend to stick around longer for the dog to lick off or get it on furniture.

I hope what your vet prescribed works out though!

When it would get pretty bad, we also wrapped her leg in bandaging wrap used for horses i think. Or an e-collar but they look so sad in those things! Hehe

Hope everything gets better for you & also hope you found your rabbit vet

Thanks for the update. I hope you get to the bottom of her allergy. must drive her nuts!

And Ebon? She came good?

I’m thrilled to hear about this new vet!!!!

Looks like we need a few more vibes actually. Not sure what it’s from but Jenna’s had two days of liquid stools and no clear cause.
May be back to old vet tomorrow if no change, the only one open on Sunday.
Ebon is well but continues to put things in her mouth that don’t belong there. Last night it was duct tape. >_<
I could use that bubble to put them in…the one that keeps anything foreign out!

I’m sorry Jenna is still unwell. Are you putting anything on her skin that she may have ingested and is upsetting her tummy?

Boy, we sure are both having a rough time.

More vibes for ((((((Jenna))))))))

Thanks everyone.
LPT I’m not even using her ear meds yet…things have been absolutely nuts here. I found out this week I had taxes due so there was a mad scramble to get all that rounded up before deadlines. Dealing with the other pets and their assorted problems on my own because now I can’t afford the vet (first time I’ve lost control of the money situation to that end) and my two cats will now have to wait even longer to be seen.

Weather has now completely gone sour. Snow (and probably a huge dump) is imminent. That severely curtails my driving abilities because our road gets too dangerous to drive at freeze up.
Jenna may be a bit better today but we haven’t had our walk yet.

I never say things couldn’t get worse … but I REALLY hope they don’t atm! 0_o

How is Jenna doing today?

I feel bad for you guys over there. Snow is September is insane! Is this early or do you usually get snow around this time. It’s supposed to be 30C here today.
