Bunny proofing the bunny pen

Well last night Goblin somehow managed to break off both of his bottom front teeth in his pen ( vet appointment will be made tomorrow morning ). Today I removed his pet store cage because he had been jumping on and off it. I also removed his cat scratcher that he sometimes smacked himself with it. 

Any suggestions on if I should add or remove anything else from his pen??? He has maloclussion so he doesn’t chew on things anymore so he won’t touch any toys like willow balls, cubes, tunnels, etc anymore, the only stuff he likes playing with is running through his tunnels & cat cubes around the living room.

Oh no! I’m so sorry that happened!! Poor little bun. I don’t really have much advice, just wanted to show my support. But, I do know that my buns sometimes bite their cage if they think I’m moving too slow on letting them out. Could he have done that? I’m not sure, though, since you said he has malocclusion, he probably doesn’t like to bite the bars either. Sorry I can’t be of more help. He’s very cute! I love the pics. Sending happy healing vibes to you both!

Any idea at all how it happened – any indication at all? The pen looks perfectly fine to me (looks very nice). He does sound like a bit of a klutz :~)

Some rabbits just have bad teeth and it sounds like that is the case with Goblin. Maybe the vet will have some ideas as to why his incisors broke off. She may even suggest you remove them altogether which is not at all uncommon for maloccluded incisors.

I have no idea how he did it, he was fine when I fed him around 9 pm but when I came back later to check on him he was sleeping in his box and hadn’t finished eating his vegetables, so I called his name and he came out then I bent down to give him a slice of apple and then I saw his tooth just hanging there. He could have hit himself in the face with the cat scratcher but he had to have done it really hard.
