I bought this toy with Mr. Bunny 10 months ago: http://www.petsmart.com/product/index.jsp He never really played with the ball; he’s not big on toys (I’m pretty sure he had none for most of his former life) and, for some reason, is afraid of bells anyway.

I didn’t feel comfortable with the little rabbit-throat-sized jingle bell inside to begin with, so I cut it out a few months ago. Yesterday, I got the idea, “Hey, why not fill it with food?” So I cut a small hole in the side and filled it with pellets and hay. Mr. Bunny really attacked it! He was so crazy to get out the pellets, he was throwing the ball around and chewing it like crazy, rolling it everywhere. The finished product looks a little like the grass balls BB sells.

Moral of the story; sometimes if your bunny never bothers with a toy you can change it a little and they might go wild. Oh yeah – and grass balls are great.

Aww, that’s cute that he loved his new toy so much! I love getting great responses like that!

My boys love when I stuff their ball with hay and tiny carrot or cilantro treats mixed in. They go nuts tearing out the hay, tossing it about, and the eating the bits that are scattered about. Hours of fun for them and hours of entertainment watching their excitement for me!!

This is definitely a favorite for my bunny. All that’s needed to make it brand new again is refilling it with more pellets and hay. He’s chewed and torn it about halfway down now, and on the sides too – he needs another!

The BinkyBunny grass balls are awesome! And, at least with my buns, they hold up for a LOOONG time. I can refill it repeatedly and they always go after it with the same enthusiasm. Max and Mead will actually wait to eat from their regular hay until the grass ball has been completely emptied… and that’s with NO additional treats or pellets added!
