This is strange, at least it seems strange to me but every single time I go in the kitchen and pull out a pan my rabbits run for their bedroom upstairs. Why? Are they afraid I’m gonna cook them? lol

Today Carrera was downstairs in the dining room with me and was positioned so she could kinda of see me in the kitchen. I very quietly pulled a small skillet out of the cupboard and as soon as that pan was laid on the stove she flew up the stairs.

        WHY?

I think that they associate those things with the smell of meat. My bunz hate when we cook meat.

Thats what I thought. We are meat eaters as well. But they just act so offended when I cook. I didnt know if other animals did that as well.

Sophie doesn’t like loud noises. She hates it when I am banging around in the kitchen or vacumming or jamming to the radio. Maybe its the sound ???

I thought maybe it was the sound. I wonder if the oven makes a low humming noise we cant hear also? Because as soon as the oven is turned on even with no pans out they are gone in a flash.

It is just so funny because the rabbits seem so insulted when we start cooking. Its just too funny.

My rabbits do the exact same thing, as soon as there is an oven turned on (that includes the *beep* of me pushing the "on" button), a pan moves, or a burner is turned on.  Juli actually THUMPS so yes, I think she does think I’m about to cook her! Kramer just sits under the willow tunnel and dissaproves of the smell

Jack hates it when we are putting things in our taking dishes out of the dishwasher.  I think it just hurts his ears when the pans and dishes bang against anything – even just slightly.

In addition, he isn’t fond of the smell of beef either.  Seems to be fine with chicken and fish, but when we cook beef, he hides.    Poor thing.   Now that they have their own room, we close the door when we are cooking beef or doing the dishes.
