I have two male bonded bunnies that are great. They have mostly free roam, but go into a cage at night. We decided to add a third bunny a few weeks ago...a female lop. We got her from a rescue and we were told she was super sweet and friendly. She is sweet and friendly....but she pretty much just lays around all the time. No binkies or bunny 500s. She has a large hutch that we keep indoors, and I let her out for most the day (seperate room than the others) and she just sits in her litter box and doesn't move for hours. Is this normal? Is she just getting used to us, or is she always going to be lazy?

She may just be a very laid back rabbit, not necessarily lazy but easy going. It could be that as she gets used to you and her new place she will come out and start exploring.

I swear it's something with females! My males are HYPER as all heck but my girl (from the same litter) has a TOTALLY different personality. She lays around sleeping and just watching things all day long. I swear she'll only come out once a day do a binky, get a treat and go back in and sleep/lay around some more!

I wouldn't say lazy, but possibly just a laid back rabbit. My bunny used to be super energetic, but since she turned 1 (she is now 2 1/2), she is more chill. She does her bunny 500's at night, but during the day just lazes around the apartment.

Its my experience and from several threads on the subject ( ) that a lot of lops tend to be more easy-going and lazy than other bunnies.

Some lops are very lazy! Usually when people post about having a lazy rabbit, it's a lop. I have one hyperactive lop, but the other only moves to go from one resting spot to another. He's only 3, but I don't see binkies more than once a week usually. Compared to my hyper girl though, he's so easy! I never have to worry about him getting into stuff because he can't be bothered to get around or over even the simplest bunny proofing.

I agree with tanlover and LPT Lilly is a female lop and she is the lazyest thing I've ever seen! all she does in her cage is flop flop flop all the time she only binkies once a day in her x-pen at play time and when she has playtime inside (where im always on mom's laptop), shell just sit in my lap and beg for carrots (she hates treats).

My Mini Lop  was the same way, she was perfectly happy in HER LIVING ROOM she made that perfectly clear.  If you were in her spot she would nudge you until you moved.  She was very laid back.  Oreo was never caged she was free range from the time we broght her home.
