Hi! My name is Jen and I am so excited about getting my first bunny! I’m a mother of 6 with 2 teens remaining at home. My daughter is getting a baby bun in a couple of weeks, and I decided to adopt one from a shelter for myself ?. I visited a shelter today, and the bunny I like is 6.5 years old. At first I was concerned about her senior age, but after researching, have decided not to worry about it because her personality was so awesome! As soon as I sat in the exercise pen where she was having some bunny romp time, she came right up to me and put her paws on my shoulder, then climbed on my lap! Tomorrow I am going to go adopt her! I am looking forward to learning and sharing my experiences here???. Yay!!!

Welcome to BB!!!! New bunny! How exciting! And so wonderful you are giving an older bunny a chance at a happy home. This is a great place to learn all about first-time bunnies! Make sure to check out the “Bunny Info” section here on BB. Covers all the basics.

Make sure to keep bunnies separate until after the baby is spayed/neutered. If you plan on bonding them, there are lots of tips and experienced members to help you.

Thank you Little Puffy Tail (Love the name btw!)! The shelter was closed Sunday and today, so hopefully I will bring her home tomorrow.

How exciting! Welcome to BB Jen, and thank you for sharing the beginnings of what will hopefully be years of rabbit stories! Owning a pet rabbit and keeping him/her happy and healthy can be overwhelming from the start, so feel free to ask questions and read information on both our forums, as well as the BUNNY INFO portion of the main website.
