Gosh I dislike intros.  They’re just so awkward.

Hi there!  My name is Lauren and I’m a sixteen year old horse trainer from the Southern USA.  Although, right now I currently reside in the Northwestern portion of this great country.

I/we just recently got into rabbits about 3 weeks ago when we walked into our local feed store and saw the cutest little buns.  Yes, we are suckers for a cute face.  We’ve always had animals (we currently have 4 horses, 3 dogs, 2 very-pregnant-due-in-less-than-a-week dairy goats, 2 buns and a barn cat) although not usually small animals.  Actually, the only small animals we had were a a pair of guinea pigs who lived for a very, very long time.  When we got the rabbits I figured that I’d be cleaning up lotsa poop.  But lo-and-behold I was researching the most natural way to feed them (My family is really into natural and ‘whole’ foods) and I found out that rabbits could be litter trained.  I had NO idea that they had the brain capacity to do that (I now know better.  Triss already comes when called and knows if she’s not allowed to do something)  Now, I shall introduce you to my bun (and my little sisters bun, Hope)

        Triss

Triss is a daredevil of a rabbit.  She’s a broken black Heinz 57 with a ridiculous amount of personality.  She’s such a little goober.  She can be doing Bunny 500’s with binky’s thrown in and then five minutes later conk out on your lap.  Best bunny ever.  She’s the sweetest little thing (every bun I’ve ever met bit the daylights out of me) and already comes when called.  She also really likes it if you have salt on your hands.  Weird bun.

Hope is a more sedate, relaxed bun.  Her favorite thing is to do is probably sleep.  It’s kind of un-inspiring.  She is a broken chestnut (I think) Heinz 57 with a funny little white circle around her nose.  It gives her this ‘pig-like’ appearance.  She’s a cutie though

And that’s all there is   I love my buns

Hi Lauren! I was hoping you’d be able to post here as well as RU.
This was the first place I came when I got Mimzy. It’s a great community. I hope you’ll enjoy it here.

Thanks!  I ride hunter/jumper (that’s what I used to specialize in) and everything else   I actually personally own two   A 7 year old (who I’ve had since he was 9 mos) and a 5 year old (who I got as an untouched yearling)…  They’re both great and the 7 year old is the best all-around horse you’ll ever meet.  I’m hoping he’ll be good on a cow, though (We’re going to try team penning and cutting)  The 5 year old is going to be an amazing stadium horse.  At 2 years old he cleared a 5′ fence with quite a few inches to spare.  Although, the 5 year old can be a little rank when he feels like it   He’s a goober   Do you have any?

Welcome! Cute bunnies. Are you positive they are both females too? Just want to make sure because most times feed stores and pet stores are notorious for not sexing rabbits correctly.

Thank you!  Yes, I am   I’ve checked them myself a bazillion times.  The last thing I need is more baby animals.  I’d start looking like this but with some twitching thrown in.  I actually feel like I can trust these people ’cause you can tell they really care about the buns   They told me how to littler train them, gave me a packet telling me how to take care of them and are CONSTANTLY holding the babies and ask about them when I come in to get feed and etc .  And, I actually had 2 people check them for me before I brought them home

You’re so lucky to have two horses and to be able to do different styles of riding! They both sound really nice, 5′ at 2 years old is impressive. And they both looks like cuties.

I’ve got a 10 year old Thoroughbred named Strauss. He’s way more experienced with showing than I am (I only started riding a little less than 2 years ago), so he kind of takes care of stuff when I don’t know what I’m doing sometimes He’s very sweet for a sport horse but sometimes he can be a bit fresh.

Yes, that I definitely am  Sorry I’m just responding but life’s been super busy lately  Not only did he jump 5′ but I watched him (while on a circle WIGGING out) do tempi (flying lead changes every other stride…So skipping in horse form ) changes for around 5-10 strides in a row O.o  At 2 years old.  And to think, we originally bought him to be my dad’s trail horse *laughs*

I love the name Strauss, too cute  I miss the horses that have your back and make you look good.  Sonny is like that, but lately I’ve been having to work Toby to get the bucks out of him   That is what happens when you give your horse a 2 month break so you can focus on exams.

Thank you!  My animals are very spoiled as well.  My friends all think I’m crazy since most of my animals do not have a job (but they will soon!)  I live in a rural area and there are tons of cattle ranches so since my animals rarely earn their keep they think I’m crazy *laughs*
